@Canes4life Even if they can win one, they will be doing okay considering the injuries. Lose both though, and it probably leaves them needing to win 6-7 out of 9 just to make the six, which will be very tough, because a lot of those guys won't be match fit.

Feel for the Canes really... that injury list is silly.

Moana is a must win, Highlanders will be tough under the rough especially the form they are in.

Barrett is far from perfect these days, but I do agree that the Blues improved when he went to 10. I just wonder if some of the Blues players lack the motivation they have in recent years? Blues fans correct me, but I feel they could benefit from injecting some players with something to prove?

I agree with this. I thought it was noticeable guys like C Christie adding some energy.

There's a few big names who look to be going through the motions

@Machpants should be an easy one to review. Nock won’t have been in too many tackle situations

I feel for Godfrey, we win that and he’s who everyone would be talking about atm. Fantastic performance and can’t wait to see what he does when we get a few boys back.

@KiwiMurph I'm sure it would be hard for Riccitelli, Sotutu and Plummer to play with the same vigour with the knowledge they are heading offshore. Beehre gave away a few penalties but was busy.

Trouble is, I don't know who the Blues leave out? Definitely think I'd inject an actual fullback at 15 be it Forbes, or Sullivan (when he is fit again). Taele could be worth a go in the midfield too.

Hard to be motivated in your job when you know no matter how good you are, promotion isn't available.

@frugby Perofeta is a good option when he is back. He should help a lot. I agree they don't have a lot of midfield options.

Honestly would like to see Rico Simpson get a debut at some stage just to get a taste.

Can someone explain to me why the Canes kicked to touch instead of a scrum at about 78:30 when #19 was pinged for offside, please?

I was more peeved that they didn’t drive from the lineout. It worked the lineout before and then they moved away from it by trying to be too cute and as a result they knocked it on. That’s the difference between a win and a loss.

Stupidity, you saw the front rowers signalling scrum

@Canes4life He is certainly looking like one of our best 10s.

Nothing awful, pretty error free, but nothing special either. Ben Blairish

At 56 mins (watching the replay on Stan) and Plummer belts an easy kick into touch on the full I reflect on those lamenting his exit to Europe. It's sad we lose him because he's an adequate first five-eighth at Super level.

    That is all.

Yeah can't say I can't get behind discounting players because they're not in their best form and made a mistake. Hopefully Jordan doesn't go down the same path.

And fuck Numia, he's gone from the best ball running prop in the competition in recent times (outside Bell), to fucking single digits in FR.

    Adequate

He's no Shaun Stevenson, but provides some good highlights none the less.
