The issue with Aoteroa Rugby Pod is both Parsons and Hall are still too close to the current players - meaning they won't criticise any nz player ever. They go through their AB teams and it's constant fawning over all the players and all the options. I find them most interesting when they are talking about non NZ teams.

And trust me, Bryn Hall has a far different opinion on players off camera haha.

The continual use of nicknames also gives both shows a lack of professionalism in my eyes. I enjoy the analysis on the ARP but they often avoid actually answering the questions from viewers.

Thats why I find Keo and Zels on SA Rugby Mag great to listen to.

A bit of trolling, a bit of bombast, but they know their onions.

And they say things about our players thats our own pundits wont say. And quite matter of factly too.

Watching the impartial panel (not)on the breakdown
You may as well give the Chiefs the title now according to Beaver and Joe Wheeler thinks Tavatavanawai should replace Reiko at centre

All impartialness goes out the the window and they become fan boys and girls
Ironically only Goldie displaying common sense
For Christ sakes I thought these people were more measured

I can barely stomach the Breakdown anymore. It’s so far past it’s used by date it ain’t funny.

Sky need to completely overhaul their main midweek rugby show. The fact they are even talking about AB selection at this stage is just pointless. We already know based on last year’s selections that it’s about how you perform towards the end of the competition, not the start.

As I Canes fan it’s hard to engage in a rugby show that doesn’t mention your team in two weeks apart from a two minute preview of the upcoming game against the Blues this weekend right at the end of the show.

    BRING BACK R-UNION!

Once you get used to their M.O on the breakdown you cant unnotice it.

Say they are talking about fullback.

Wilson "Will Jordan is going great isnt he".

Kirwan " Beaudy îs going great too, dont forget about him"

    Mils "DMAC is going great".

But they will never nail their colours to the mast and actually say who the best is or who should be playing.

They are just cheer leaders. No rigorous analysis, insight or scrutiny. Its insufferable.

And Wilson for such a maverick player is just a politician of a pundit. A fence sitter. Company man.

The Lienert Browns giving the Barretts a run for their money in the most carded family stakes.

Anton working overtime getting yellowed twice in the same passage of play against England shows the gusto with which he goes about his work.

    I'm glad Hunter got suspended

He got low but there wasn't enough of an attempt to use his arms - he basically flew at him with his head and shoulder like an nfl style hit - can't have that in the game.

That has been my experience as a Landers fan watching Rugby Pod. Have watched it three or four times for about two mentions of my team. It is just the Blues and Crusaders show.

Exactly. Parsons and Hall are just as biased as the other ex-players mentioned.

Tonight's show will be interesting though. 🙂

I thought last year the show was really good and they covered all teams quite well. Definitely still the best rugby show we have as they actually offer good insight when they talk.

And they started the show focussing on the Highlanders....

There are going to be a few hakas this weekend. The Canes were practising theirs on their social reel and Moana Pasifika will be doing theirs against the Highlanders.

As far as I know, the Chiefs are the only NZ team with a jersey.

Moana will also be wearing their 2004 Pacific Islands heritage jersey. Brumbies are wearing their heritage jersey too. Then there's a few haka and some smoking stick ceremonies.

Damn, that is an extensive list of injuries!

Wonder if the hard ground along with bigger faster bodies is a factor?

I know the playing fields are generally top condition, training pitches are often not going to be as well irrigated.
