@Dan54
Totally agree. Let's scrap the forum and blindly follow the talking points of ex-players.
I mean....what's the point of even having opinions? Why do that, it against what my post about, I saying it good to have boreds so we can have opinions. Well it is for me, as I love talking and seeing opinions no matter how much we agree or disagree. Anyone with a modicum of sense would see I pointing out how sunjective it all is. And even here how perhaps if somene has difference of opinion doesn't make him right or wrong etc.

Razor must be a bit slow
I think he'll raise it again in the next 6 months
With or without stellar play from DMac
DMac is so much better than Barrett at 10 right now it's not funny. How Beaudy is the AB starting 10 I have no idea.
There is an accepted narrative out there that beaudy is experienced and calm, and dmac is erratic ,
once people form opinions it takes a lot of convincing to change their minds
Regardless of who is the better 10, its laughable that they are both playing 15 for their clubs at this juncture.
Razor should be having a word with their respective teams.
McMillan said DMac is their ten. He would've been on the bench but for injuries. So he'll be ten most of the year, beaudy won't. Beaver had pointed out that beaudy looks like a fifteen playing ten, and he should know. And I hate to agree with Marshall but his point that wanting every player to be able to play multiple positions is detrimental to the player in many positions eg front row, nine, and ten

I actually think Marshall’s analysis isn’t so bad when he is away from the commentary role .

And one of the things we need to look for this year is how well Robertson and co. develop options at 10 to back him up. Needs to look for newer talent and not harp on about RM or see BB as anything other than a short-term option.
fair comment.

the same places think A Savea was basically the best player in black last year. I am convinced most people don't even watch games, they just watch a few highlights and parrot talking points of 2-5 years ago.
Probably includes the commentators and so called expert pundits...

DMac showed his class on the weekend. I expect him continue to demonstrate he is best in show at 10 in NZ right now. It is up to Razor to put him in the best position to succeed in black now, that is all on him. I want to see him change the formation and the gameplan to bring the best out of 10, 12, 13

@Bovidae can't we play a team more people would like to watch us play?
France would be the only other NH team because these are the other EOYT tests:
Nov 8 - Scotland
Nov 15 - England
Nov 22 - WalesPffft, speak for yourself, this one will be a test for the ages

IIRC the field isn't even regulation width...

PR speak.
I assume this would have been an Irish home game. Obviously this is all about making money, but remember NZR wanted to take one of the French home tests to the USA, and that would have been much worse.

Yep. Translated: A money making venture no fan wants.

That alone shows the board isn't fit for purpose.

fair enough, I can well imagine how watching Scotland in tests adds years to their fans...

I've been over BB for some time and not sure Richie is/was consistently a better 10 than DMac.
I see Bidwell is one of those who think Richie is indispensable.
"Any coach worth their salt should say the same, and most fans too. After all, you only had to watch Damian McKenzie playing at fly-half last year to appreciate Mo’unga’s worth."
I had a quick look back various press releases and Bidwell appears an entrenched Mo'unga fan.
I kinda think Mo'unga has played enough for us to assess his international worth, he was great under Razor in the Crusaders, less so in the ABs but other Crusaders don't seem to be a million dollars better under our current coaches than under the last team. Their gift of AB props may have improved but I don't see Crusaders newfound magic in the backs. -

It's not, which made our lock selection even more bloody ludicrous. Pat Tuipuloto and Kaino FFS. I know we were short of quality at the time, but lineout specialists should have been obvious, along with our best blindside playing at, well, blindside.
Lineouts are important enough, but with more of them and no chance to even take a quick throw because the ball is in the stands every time was just plain dumb.
