@Nepia I read that The Brutalist has an intermission. Just for you! 🤣

I reckon I'll need one every 20 minutes, that's my Brody tolerance.

    That’s actually quite impressive

    The 355
Writing this as I watch... not sure how this experiment will go...

    • Hot mess, right from the start
    • 1 minute in... Most Blatant MacGuffin Ever - "this is our plot"
    • Every single fucking scene - just a remake of other shit, blatant, but slapped together with fuck-all understanding of how this jigsaw works
    • None of it makes any fucking sense - none of the motivations, conflicts... nothing
    • Penelope Cruz walks in, out of nowhere, WTF? , but not gonna complain
    • Somebody doesn't understand the difference between "south-east" vs "south-west"
    • Somebody doesn't understand how basic cellphone security works
    • An ensemble cast comprising of a hot: blonde, redhead, latina, black (no love for the asian).... and zero tit-watch
    • Shit- maybe they've now thrown in asian chick as an antagonist? Ah no, now she's joined the crew. Some idiot script-writer is very happy with themselves.
    • Pretty super-dumb fun despite all that.
    • I would love to collate the ridiculous quotes from this, but... can't be arsed. WAY too much work.

This shit is so derivative - I'm genuinely constantly wondering if I've actually already seen it, but maybe under-the-influence the first time.
FullTime-Edit: I genuinely only realised at the 90% mark that this was supposed to be a "women-empowerment" type thing. Coz I don't really care about that - somebody makes an action movie with female star(s) - cool, don't care - will watch. But THIS - did a little cringe. Then they did the ridiculously overt bit at the very end ... FFS.

I bet it seemed like a sure thing to the execs at Netflix. But it was just a sad misfire. Maybe just too dull, trying to be too clever, lacked any great action or screen chemistry

I can imagine the sell... "it's fucking EVERYTHING that has been successful over the last few years - all just... mushed together, like a monkey with playdoh, like a toddler given a cheeseboard"
I'm now at the part where they think they're channeling an Ocean's 'x' or Mission Impossible heist - just.... done so badly. I'm amazed they didn't thrown a superhero in there.

For most people it will not be worth the 64 minutes run time. Mark Polonia has filmed lots of super low budget movies over the last 20 years. This one was even worst than most, looking like it had all been filmed in a single room. Special effects budget was less than I spend for breakfast at McDonalds.

Look how many movies this guy pumped out last year

I'm going to keep going through the back catalogue though. Next on my list are these 2:

I wonder how wealthy Roberts is? I remember reading years back that George Clooney was pretty decently well off before his big break in ER because he'd been cast in a bunch of shows that although they often didn't make it past the first season he'd get paid well for that seasons, and for recurring roles on shows like The Golden Girls etc.

I assume Roberts gets paid ok money to do a couple of days work on most of these movies.

Anyway, on my Oscar noms watch I'm three quarters of the way through Wicked. Will try finish it in the next couple of days. I don't hate it (the story itself is actually decent) but it's still a musical.

Eric Roberts is not even close to being the best paid actor in his family.

That's true, he's probably only third best, but I still think he's doing ok for himself.

Not just on money, but on politics too, I think one of the lesser brother's is a MAGA and all the rest are liberals.

Personally I think Netflix has more better shows than Amazon, they just make across the board stuff so some really average stuff gets on there (and often does well as there's no accounting for taste).

Amazon has a few really good shows and then other than that is a shit show of an app where everything else is hard to find and they prioritise other streamers content to get you to pay more.
