I disagree actually, when you go away with your club it’s so much better to be surrounded by your own fans. I think there’s no risk of football like trouble, but I think the atmosphere in stadiums will improve which is good for everyone. It doesn’t mean you have to sit in the ‘away end’, it just means you can. There’ll still be plenty of opportunity to mix before, at half time and after games

    Then buy tickets together

    Easy

Mike, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a period in Wales in the 70's/80's where crowd trouble started to creep into Welsh rugby and they looked to segregate fans?

what, 500-1000 people? maybe someone could coordinate that...

    Easily

Through the 'away' club's supporter page

We DO NOT want to go down the football route where away fans can only buy through the club and can only sit in designated areas

I watched the game. It was really scrappy, four yellow cards, strange ill discipline from Leinster especially (multiple foot trips), lots of handling errors and wayward kicking. It was especially bad in the first half, it got more open and fluid in the second.

Jordie Barrett came on in the 40th minute and played at 12 (O’Brien shifted to fullback and Ringrose to 14). He was very involved in Leinster’s attacking game, often acting as a distributor close to the line. Scored a good try as well, although the Bristol defence was badly fading in the second half. But he had a very solid game. All it really did for me was underline how under-used his playmaking ability was throughout the ABs season.

Also, best game I’ve seen Prendergast play. Those long-winded passes he throws still irk me, but his kicking game is impressive and he added some nice runs as well. Real punchable face too, so he seems destined to become a great Irish 10.

not sure if there's another thread where this has been discussed but rugby in England continues to shoot itself in the foot, why would you sell the European competition rights to a broadcaster that no one has heard of, no one has access too and no one wants? I am sure a few die hard fans have paid for the package but I haven't, don't know how, can't be arsed to work out so just won't watch the competitions now - and I'm a Quins fan who loved last years competition.

Rugby needs to find a way of making the game more widely available, almost no one watches it on TV anymore

There are a number of raging river feeds via YouTube

And a comprehensive 5-8 minute highlight package of all matches on YouTube

No, TNT have the English Premiership and the Autumn Internationals, but something called Premier Sports has bought the rights to the European competitions - don't know anyone with Premier Sports in England and don't know any pubs that have it either. Its a moronic decision when you consider the aim of growing the game IMO.

The Champions Cup is a joke now, I don't understand the format, there are 8 of the 10 English teams in it and now i can't watch it either.

Premier sports have been around longer than TNT I thought. They used to have the 7s and a few other rugby comps, thought even internationals. Much cheaper than TNT and available on any sky box.

think they're better known in Ireland (?), Scotland and Wales as they have the URC i believe - they have no footprint in England that I'm aware of as they don't have premier league football and haven't had prem, European or Intl rugby before. TNT are just BT Sport rebranded which built its admittedly still limited customer base via football, rugby and now cricket. I don't believe European rugby alone is enough to encourage people like me to sign up to yet another sports package

So what your saying is its stupid that England don't get access in their normal rugby service, because Ireland, Wales and Scotland don't count? Because the main comps are on different services, someone is going to miss out

This reply totally reflects the tone of this conversation on Twitter, this isn’t about England being more important than the others. This is about rugby growing its supporter base and trying to become more financially viable.

Reality is the value of the market for watching rugby in England is bigger than wales, Ireland and Scotland, getting no eye balls for the European competition in England will be the quickest way to kill it IMO.

Does Premiersport have football in the other countries? How many subscribers does it have relative to Sky and TNT? It’s a niche product

    @Dodge

    Totally agree.

Moreover even die hard fans will think twice about yet another subscription for a competition where your own team might only play a handful of games and many clubs do not place much importance on the comp itself.

I’m certainly not invested enough and can’t think of anyone rushing to sign up either.

Well, I've just looked outside and it seems I'm not actually overseas.
