I just wondered if it had been conflated. Although @Virgil 's post suggest some basis for applying to the ABs.

Charged with assault on a female in 08 or 09 if I recall. Jimmy Cowan got charged with a couple of things around the same time.

Charged with assault on a female in 08 or 09 if I recall. Jimmy Cowan got charged with a couple of things around the same time.
Thomson was charged but not convicted as his partner admitted she'd blown it all out of proportion - it happened in Havelock North and pretty much everyone knew there was nothing there but the police had to proceed due to the accusation. (One of the cops who attended is a friend of mine).

@Nepia i just looked it up and apparently she was saying (maybe changed her story?) there was nothing in it and they'd just had an argument and it was a third party/witness that call the cops and was claiming they saw assult

IIRC the witness said it wasn't assault.

"He's a sweetheart who'd never hurt a fly," she told a friend.

To be thrown a lifeline by NZR and the Crusaders and to then do that and throw it back in their face is something else. Keep in mind Razor was the coach that wanted to give him a chance back then too. Really hope we never see him in the AB jersey again, embarrassing he was even an AB this year with it hanging over his head. You can’t tell me management didn’t know about it…
I saw him at the Christchurch cup day(the night this happened) and he was absolutely munted, not a care in the world for how he was carrying on. Just a bad look all round. Should 100% be charged, everyone else would.

To be fair, after reading the details of Sevu's first "incident" - and reading between the lines of the witness reports - I had some sympathy. It seemed quite possibly an innocuous incident, but branded with "domestic violence" and therefore pitchforks out.
But a second incident... not sure I can be bothered reading the details of this one, but one way or the other, he hasn't learned lessons.

My reading of it was that he'd been trying to de-escalate a situation between her and others, and had tried to get her to sit down, initially by sitting down himself, then eventually physically pulling her down to sit with him.
The kind of action which a particularly nasty prosecution lawyer of the american kind could force a witness into describing as "pulling her to the ground" and "dragging".
I might have it wrong though - and the fact there is this second incident... yeah, I'm wondering if I was overly optimistic in the first place.she was an absolute nutter - always hitting him and stuff - he reacted, got done. Saders got the 'get him away from her he'll be ok' so took him on.
Not saying the guy hasn't totally farked up on this occasion but first time round was plenty of sympathy from those close to the situation and hence the reason they signed him.
Pretty surprised the saders and AB's kept him on this year tho - plenty knew it was him

Haha there's always stories about him on the piss down here. The amount of times his name pops up from what he gets up to on weekends, it's to the point where the stories sound like they just get repeated from my mates over and over again, it's almost boring haha.
The guy needs help.

My understanding is he was charged. Then discharged without conviction by the judge - for the second time. Which means the judge understood he was guilty but chose not issue an official punishment.

He’ had a great year in a terrible crusaders season. But his All Black form has been non existent.
I’d say it’s time for Sevu to bugger off overseas. -

Certainly. A lot of talented footballers don't have the discipline to even get to the position they're being talked about squandering opportunity.
