Misleading title.
Zero real analysis.
Unnecessary constant close-up of face
90% wrong
Just... yeah, nah.If ever the Fern went to podcasting, vlogging, this could be the intro.

Yeah - as I was writing that, I was thinking of the Fern motto, and ... "I could just copy/paste that - and... I guess that means the vid actually fits in quite well - it's the Gen-Z self-aggrandizing vlog love-my-own-face version of TSF"

Couple points from the game:
- Pretty much sums up our season under Razor.
- That stadium is great, we need more like that in NZ!! Puts the crowd on top of the players.
It's a football stadium isn't it? The production at Stade de France and Turin was top notch IMHO
As a ground connoisseur Stade de France and the Millennium Stadium are the best I've been to.
Strand Park Petone in a southerly the worst. -

We are going to do alright in 2025 because our forwards have come on well.
Our backs don't cut the mustard. Was obvious watching in the Stade de France and this game also.
In my view DMac is the first five end of. We need fast wingers and it's time for more Hurricane infusion in the backline. Higgins, Love, Proctor. There's no point waiting at the beginning of next season. Try them out. -
Thought Cane put in a great shift in tonight.
Thanks for everything Sam, you’ve been a fucken warrior
Likewise TJ, different role of course, but no less courageous and enthusiastic about your tasks…
Go well lads
On the game - well it wasn’t easy watching…
We were very inaccurate and average, as were the Italians in attack thank Christ!
Where the Italians were good though was on D, I thought they did a great job of wrapping the ball in every tackle , they slowed us up at every change.
I also didn’t hear about this apparent new rule where you don’t have to release the tackled player anymore before you try to jackal.
Good times

Well. A little more calm this morning. But. So many work ons. And it does feel like we've regressed since the WC. TBF the forwards went pretty well this tour. But. The backs. And the attack plan / game management for the most part was non-existent. I could not see for the life of me what they were trying to achieve last night. When they were just hammering away at the Italian line but constantly over running or shelling the last pass, it looked pretty clueless and rudderless out there. No-one seemed willing to step up and take responsibility to seize the game by the scruff. Headless chickens. Leadership group? Where the fuck were they? A leader would be a good start. Think this will spell the end of some careers for sure.

What happened to Levi Aumua, by the way, was he a one trick pony or just not well used at the Crusaders?
He looked 10kg overweight at the Crusaders.

That should mark the sunset on a few of the players.
Thanks for the service lads, time to pass the baton.
Scott Barrett, and the midfield should be nervous. Havilli shouldn't be in the squad at all. And the wings need pace. And the restarts are terrible. Etc etc etc
The restarts become more of a lottery now that it's nye impossible to lift from the front as you'll get done for interference. Some of these calls are beyond ridiculous as you pretty much have nowhere to go other than head to the sideline then retreat.

@Nepia watched the first half, and Rieko always gets the ball and the tackler. The same can be said for most of our backline passing. We are obsessed with tight pop passing to cut through the line. It's rarely pretty or effective. One guy who consistently seems to run nice lines and gets space is Will Jordan
100%. I think Goldie mentioned this which is why he keeps dropping the ball. In the second half the move started working leaving a giant whole between 13 and 14 only for us to f@ck it in the @rse with the link play.
Our backs really seem to play narrow to start with, very compressed making it hard to get to the flanks.
-
The ruck defense was one of the most frustrating parts of the game. We were constantly watching them wrestle and disrupt our ball as we had only committed one cleaner & one man at best to lock down the ruck, making it terribly difficult for Roigard to clear the ball. This was the same issue that we had against Ireland which i believe made it appear that Ratima had a bad game - when in reality he was having to tidy up loose/disrupted ball at the back of the ruck.
Why cant we seem to adjust to this in game? -
@DurryMexted leadership?

Why cant we seem to adjust to this in game?Agree completely, and I made that comment during the game, we can't complain about the ref if we are not getting numbers to the ruck. The team with more numbers will almost always get the rub of the green from the ref. It's just dumb rugby that may work at Super but it sure as fuck doesn't work at test level. Why haven't the coaches learnt that yet?

We also need to be a lot more specific when it comes to saying our forwards went well. They didn't. Our props, hookers and one lock went well. The other look was in poor form, and our loose forward trio is completely unbalanced which has led to us getting smashed at ruck time. We are a long way from being where we need to be in the forwards, and our backline is an absolute shambles.
