Arguably our loosies are improving, the tight forwards are solid, but the assistant coaches for the backs are being quite subtle in their value add.

@Bones Ugo Moyne must be the single worst Rugby pundit in the world. Ignorant, seemingly blind and with his head up his own arse.

    How very dare you

Telea's late try was almost a microcosm of where are at right now. Just a mess in midfield, BB is Johnny on the spot and gets the fortuitous regather, throws the long ball and we score. Far from clinical

Just seen it on the highlights, great pass from BB, and his own try was great vision. Sounds a bit more like a 15 than a 10 to me though.

@nostrildamus I think BB at 15 is very good at the moment. Miles better than 10

What happened to Levi Aumua, by the way, was he a one trick pony or just not well used at the Crusaders?

    Yes

I rewatched it just now. I see DH contributed by giving Rieko a hospital pass as the Italians rushed up. Quelle surprise

I’m a typical arrogant AB fan. I don’t know anything about the opposition

    Couple points from the game:

    1. Pretty much sums up our season under Razor.
    2. That stadium is great, we need more like that in NZ!! Puts the crowd on top of the players.

The top stadia in NZ for rugby are all proper rectangles. Dunedin, Hamilton, North Harbour (before the borked it). Miles better viewing that multipurpose.

It's a football stadium isn't it? The production at Stade de France and Turin was top notch IMHO

Someone mentioned above that they wished RI ran more like Sititi in attacking the weak shoulder. There was a good example at the 32 minute mark in the first half where RI received a short ball and ran straight at the defender. Unfortunately there was a glaring gap on the outside of the defender that if RI was awake to the opportunity a slight change of angle before receiving the ball would have given him a chance to run through the gap.

The same applies to Jordie, our midfield lacks in any subtlety - Jordie and Ioane play very similar, tho Jordie can take out long kicks and Ioane saves our bacon with speed. ALB and Havili most certainly aren't the answer!

Was disappointed by Rieko again. Just not aware or creative enough. Thought BB, Jordan and Roigard all had mixed efforts too.
Our scrum was pretty good though, and Cane and Sititi were busy and effective. Not too much glow outside that.

    @Machpants

Exactly, no subtlety , no deception from any of them. ALB, Reiko or Jordan look like they could not set up anyone outside them all day long. No offloads , and just bad options all the time. Telea not much better and Barrett reminds me why two previous coaches also had him at fullback instead of 10. I put a lot of it on Razor. In what world will Barrett take us to the next World Cup? I know that Proctor and Jordie not available but in what world would that be inferior to Reiko and anyone?

it's a bit rude to point out the obvious but why does his mo look more like nostril hair? And what are those UFOs reflected in his pupils? No wonder the Alsatian looks spooked.

But as for the stats, stats stats stats, scrums and lineouts don't look great, and for all those metres, not so many points!
