It depends I think upon whether the aim is more rugby, better rugby or popular rugby. In the end it will be key that talks but expect a lot of resistance to change from the current 6N countries along the way. You don't lightly throw away 100+ years of tradition.

They did exactly that for France and Italy.

That's probably the wrong word. A) Because France came in after 27 years (minus WW1) and Because the basis of the tournament hasn't changed. The original countries remained and there was no prospect of relegation. You start adding more teams without relegation, it then becomes unwieldy.

We may be very shit at the moment, with all comers wanting to have a go at putting the boot in, but one thing you can say about Cardiff is when there’s a match you fucking know there’s a match on

Oh well in my imagination I'd rather go to the places in mainland Europe, I just don't think I'd be alone in that thinking.

When I was younger, definitely not.

Rome was awesome when I went to watch the ABs and I reckon the others would do just as good a job.
