We have 3 years to get this right.

Sorry but that attitude is a big part of what is wrong with NZ Rugby. We have 6 days to get this right.

Winning 80+% of all our tests, not folding like overcooked pasta and living up to the legacy of 125 years of AB dominance are way more important than a tournament every four years.

@kpkanz Absolute bullshit. He was lethal for the ABs last year. What has changed is the coach, and the shithouse attack system. We have gone backwards.

Can't find the stats to confirm it, but it was mentioned RI didn't score a try this Super Season. If correct, what's the story there?

Too busy distributing to Caleb Clarke, AJ Lam and Mark Tele'a for him to be scoring any himself 😁

Rieko hasn't been in his best form this year. I thought AJ Lam was noticeably better for the Blues at 13.

Rieko was such a natural rugby player that did things instinctively well when he came on the scene as a teenager brimming with confidence. Now he seems to have lost his mojo.

ok, glad i didn;t read the thread during the game....i pretty much enjoyed it

several players very quiet, others like sititi on fire

i even didnt mind Gardenier, missed stuff...made some baffling calls....but i much prefer when refs just let stuff go, or admit they missed things and say "move on"

re ALB head clash tackle near the end .... no issue with it as that is the way it has been reffed for a while now.... however .... if you watched the Scottish game .. the Scottish hooker did the same thing .. and it was penalty only - this inconsistency is the main issue

yeah, i didn;t hate it when the commentary got so quiet you could barely hear it and all you had was the ref and the crowd noise

i realised the commentators are a big part of the reason why i sometimes hate watching sport. Shut the fuck up!

it is not radio fuckheads, i can see what is happening.

Commentators of all sports should be made to listen to Richie Benaud on repeat

literally just stop trying to tell us what any of the players or coaches are thinking or feeling, fuck off trying to explain the rules because your often wrong and no one wants your opinion of if the call was right or not...just tell us who passed to who or who;s tackle sititi has just busted through and otherwise shut up

One of the convos that would have been interesting was some Pom whinging at Gus who said something like "nah, that was a real ding dong contest, I'm not penalising that" or similar. But for the life of me I couldn't hear what the query was., or the subsequent reply. Was later in 2nd half.

I miss Sky's option of the ref's mic feed only. The banter between the players is also great to listen to. They also need to include the ARs audio. A strong ref will often ignore a lot of what the ARs are saying to them if it is trivial.

The other thing that was good about the audio was the sound mix for the crowd was really good

You could really hear the crowd and it makes you feel like you are there

In some games the crowd is so muted - it takes away from the experience.

i was wondering if it was just NZ crowds or if that crowd noise was "canned", really adds to the experience i think

@mariner4life well when NZ crowds attempt to make noise they get drowned out by the local "DJ"

Man where was he LETHAL last year?? Genuinely.

Last 2 years he is consistently bottom of the backline for metres made, linebreaks, defenders beaten.

    CONSISTENTLY.

If you're going to argue he was LETHAL you can't just link a last pass for a try as evidence of that.

Where was he lethal that he was carving up defences last year. I don't ever remember that happening.

Just saw the ABs IV game. How good is that jersey??? Much better than the ABs.

I'd be asking where the other XI were.

    😂

The problem with this whole "Reiko never puts anyone in to space" argument is that he is also never given the ball with any sort of time.

He was given it today once I can remember and he immediately gave it to Sititi, backed up and hit the ruck (we lost the ball because the rest of.pur loose forwards were again MIA).

If he was hungasing the ball and constantly blowing overlaps this argument would hold a lot more water. But he gets shit ball too because our pattern is both midfielders playing narrow flat and straight

I have noticed since SA 1 that they have been using both Jordie and Rieko very narrow to try to suck in defenders. It is quite effective at doing that, but it's not a great use of Rieko's talents. Ideally we'd want him a bit wider looking for mismatches. If only we had someone like Nonu inside him...
