Probably one of the worst AB losses I have ever seen given the context.
We were in complete control. 15 mins left we're in their 22. If we score there this game becomes a blowout.
Ignore the refereeing, we completely blew the game that last 15.
Failed exists, knockons, DUMB penalties (Finau literally given multiple warnings and ignores the ref).
Dumb dumb dumb completely unnecessary loss.
And with that the rugby championship should also be gone now.
Disgusting loss.

I think that was maybe the worst collective AB back 3 performance I have ever seen. All useless under the high ball, barely effective in attack, constantly doing something dumb. Just horrible.

Beauden at 10..why? He is going to kick most the ball away, and barely gets our attack going compared to Dmac.
Last game against Aussie we looked decidedly average for the first 60 minutes he was leading. His passing is just quite poor. He shuffles and the rest of the backline pays the price.
And he's 33...so what is this working towards?
Jordie/Rieko continuing their tenure as guaranteed starting midfielders. No surprise the last 5 years we have struggled on attack coincides with when we decided to stick two midfielders who either can't pass or choose not to as our starting pair.
Why are we obsessed with ATHLETES at centre? Conrad was our best center ever and all he did was spend the entire game trying to set up players outside him.

At least our pack is trending towards World Class

Dmac was 10x better with Roigard on and pretty much won us the game with that skip pass in the end.

Experience is not fungible/equal.
A lot of the old heads in this group have had a decade of being losers, breaking records for losing, and just in general being inferior. They have BAD experience.
No surprise our best players all year have been debutants who have taken it directly to teams that have been dominating us recently.
Or 2004 where we transformed the team in ONE EOYT by leaving behind Spencer/Marshall and a bunch of experienced MUST HAVE players.
And the next gen took over and dominated the world.
We are on the cusp of that here but apparently Razor is scared to pull the switch.
Don't forget our best player in Sititi this year may have only had 80 minutes of game time all year if it wasn't for that Blackadder injury.
Or seeing Aumua step up when he had no CHOICE after Taylors early injury, and he performed and became a monster this tour, after finally being given a full game instead of a BS garbage time 15 minutes at the end.
We have a bunch of toxic nepotism picks who have been losers for near a DECADE holding us up with our next generation just waiting in the stands until they get they their chance.
Beauden/Rieko/Jordie are immediate examples.
Scott Barret/Reece, possibly Ardie are more.
More than half the team currently literally aren't the best in NZ.

I may seem obsessed with this notion since it's all I've posted recently..but it's infuriating to see something eventuate that seemed so obvious from the outside.
Beauden has never looked good against the rush. He has a horrible passing game, he doesn't run flat to draw in defenders and free the outside backs. He telegraphs his passes and shovels it on, it's just trash. And our attack greatly suffers.
Amazing how we were consistently getting around rush defense with Dmac at 10 (someone with an actual passing game), and it's suddenly disappeared again with BB back.
I'm just in disbelief he is still getting picked to start at 10.
Honestly he must be the most charming person on the planet off the field to keep getting picked.
People are talking nonsense here if they think there's no difference to the Foster era from tonights game.
Also the blatant disregard of the quality of the English team, this is a really good England team who beat Ireland 2 games ago and were about to beat France in France if not for a penalty right on full time.
To beat them first up with a brand new coaching setup and all the noise that would have come with it is extremely impressive.
I'm also amazed at some people here genuinely asking for Plummer over Dmac.

Foster only had ONE actual full RC with home and away.
2020 - no SA
2021 - no away games to SA or ARG because of COVID
2022 - the only proper RC, we had two games in SA and the 2nd test win was the decider for the entire RC, a wins a win but that match was an anomaly, the players going all out in a freak match knowing full and well that a loss would mean their coach being Sacked
2023 - shortened RC, only 3 games, and 2 of them against SA/AUS we were at home.

You actually have to watch the games back from before Schmidt and Ryan joined to appreciate how truly bad our rugby was.
I remember feeling HOPELESS against even Argentina we were that bad.
Every loss this year we have legitimately been in a good position and thrown it away, It's a completely different context to the lows of the Foster era where we never looked like winning ANY game.
Once again we haven't scored since around the 40th minute.
I remember when this happened in South Africa people claimed it was just the amazing powers of the bomb squad.
Turns out its an US problem.
We win that game with Dmac starting, would have been up by 30 first half when we had the momentum. Fukn dumb selections cost us the game.
And then we take off Roigard 50th min for some dumb reason.
Dmac did more in 15 than Jordie did entire game
The fact that he thinks the issue is the overseas policy is just embarrassing.
We have all the players we need already in NZ.
The fact he can't see that is extremely disturbing.
Also sends a nice message and an ironic hit to the apparent brotherhood he has formed with his players.

@canefan Dmac passed and kicked more than he ran, do people even watch the games.
One issue currently is Jordies form or possibly skill-set. He seemed to run when he should have passed and passed when he should have ran a few times last night.

There's a difference to the way we lost compared to the last regime.
Look at the stats. We completely dominated, even some of the french in the forums are saying the same thing.
We should have finished this game in the first half (would have with Dmac).
21-3 would have been a fair reflection.
Let's not compare to the previous 4 years where against the big teams we were a genuine DISTANT second each time and looked like we needed them to capitulate for us to have a chance.

After the kick, we held the ball and then Dmac got us into their 22 with his break.
We had the ball hot on attack in their 22. At best score a try, or hold the ball and win a penalty to win the game.
So we actually had done all the hard work. Make the kick, and get back into their 22 attacking.
Then Beauden/Rieko screwed it up.
Just such a DUMB loss to a team we could have beat by 20 today.
How often does Rieko knock it on actually
@Chris Ardie is the most culpable in that entire movement.
We just won a lineout steal, everyones ready to counter with Ratima at the base ready to get the ball out.
Ardie decides to shove him out of the way and instead pass the ball himself, only for it to go 30 metres over our first receiver and setting off the entire chain of events.
@Jet Tbh I think ALB is one of our classiest players and only bouts of injury stopped him from being guaranteed as one of the first names on the sheet, which I think will happen if he stays injury free.
Even the 2019 semifinal against England you mentioned, have you seen the stats from that day?
ALB that day had the following stats..
-1st in the team for defenders beaten
-2nd in the team for metres made
-2nd in the team for tackles made
