What a piston wristed gibbon! Fucked the ABs over in 2007 big time.
I've always maintained if that had happened to a British team or SA he'd have been hounded out of the game. No way in hell the Saffas would have accepted him to ref them ever again. And tbh I don't blame them.
As to the online abuse, the internet and social media have always been a sewer in that regard. Not sure why people are continually shocked after a quarter century.
I cant stop reading this with a lisp, exactly as Mike Tyson would

Dunn how they can call the bench "Impact" when Havili is involved

Teaching my 8 year old son how to kick goals yesterday and I smacked a couple over from out near half way (albeit pretty much straight in front) and he asked why I didn't kick for the all blacks. Could only offer up that I can't tackle for Shit. Also slow, unfit and couldn't throw a skip pass to save myself

How GOOOOOOD was that???
Best Father's Day for ages!!

Entertaining game and brilliant result.
That performance is exactly what was needed to get New Zealand right behind our girls, and this World Cup in general.
Dream start to the tournament!

A couple of mates and I Decided while drunk at New Years to surprise the boys with a trip to Wellington to watch blues v canes, and we hoped the blues would have had a better season but ah well the lads still loved the surprise when we broke it to them at 11am Saturday after they’d finished their game. That was about the highlight.....
2pm flight got delayed 230 then 3pm then cancelled as the part they had used to repair the plane was the wrong part. AirNZ told us we were rebooked to the 7pm flight but hell that wasnt gonna work. The combo of dad rage and sad 7 and 8 year old boys seemed to get the desired impact and we were rebooked to the 5pm flight so looked like we still had a chance. 11 of us in to koru and a good session was had. Extended session too as 5pm got rescheduled to 545 then 620 then 630 we boarded and finally took off at 7farken25!!! Landed before half time and shuttled to the ground and into the lounge for the last 30mins so at least the kids got to visit the caketin and witness the canes tear us a new one.
They also got to experience classic wet and windy Wellington weather on Sunday, a (lost?) whale in Wellington harbour and te papa. Oh and and another extended koru session thanks for more delays coming home Sunday night.
Couldn’t really tell you much about the rugby. Best I read the posts above to find out what happened in the 50mins we missed.

I find the whole celebration of Silver and Bronze at the Olympics a bit odd.
Second place is just another losing position.
It's winning that is everything!
I dunno, some people would be pretty stoked to get a medal and be recognised as one of the best in the world. For sure, some people will be disappointed if they legit thought they were a chance for gold, and fell just short. Others, may have performed on the big stage with personal/life time bests, possibly higher than they ever thought possible. No wonder they are celebrating!

Surprised no thread on this, actually no i'm not.
But anyway, been working out there as a scorer for the last 4 days and walking around with the groups. Apart from yesterdays hoohaa (out of their hands as LPGA said wanted it to be 72 holes and extended to today rather than called short to 54) it has been a very well run tournament. We got some pretty good names here and most delivered in terms of quality of play. Must say that these girls can really hit the ball and are dam accurate.
I worked with different groups each day but highlights were definitely Gaby Lopez and Ryan O'toole on Friday, Brooke Henderson on saturday and then a great group yesterday of Ryan again, Alena Sharp from Canada and Cheyenne Woods (tigers niece) yesterday. All very chatty throughout the round and its clear these girls have a great time out of tour, much like the guys appear to.
Saw a bit of Lydia out and about and the crowds just love her. Must be massive pressure on here as everywhere she goes people are shouting out "Go lydia" etc and asking to pics and autographs. She's played ok but actually was coughing and sniffing a lot. Could be sick, could be hayfever, dunno.
The course is pretty good for only being a year or so old. Fairly flat and wide fairways but the rough is ROUGH and often unplayable. Not overly long at all but was set up for the ladies. Not too many tees could have gone back much further. Greens look good. Slick (for NZ) and not many flat ones. I will be playing out there in a few weeks and fairly confident I can burn it up
Play called off yesterday after numerous weather suspensions. We started at 8am and got 15 holes done. It was farken rough out there with sideways rain at times, hail and some ferocious winds which actually blew to bits the sponsorship signs on a couple of the holes. We were on the 15th green when the signs on the 16th tee pretty much exploded and blew in to a lake about 50m away. Pretty scary stuff.
Brooke should win it from here. 4 shot lead with 12 to play. She has super focus and do what is required today.

@JK how long do you persist with an injury prone player like Blackadder? If he has two more injuries in the space of year I’d be tempted to invest in someone else. I love his intensity in principle but now what are our 6 options. I’d rather have someone like Akira.
Not sure why you're asking me? I cant stand Blackadder, nor have I commented on him in recent times. Try @Bones or @mn5 those two just love a chat about random crap. All the best.

I watched NZ v Georgia match on a desktop computer (Chrome) and the quality of the streaming was excellent. No hick-ups whatsoever. What's the Fern's experience been with other devices?
Watched a 1987 game on the weekend and wife commented how poor quality it was and that I had wasted my money. I had to point out it was 1987.....

Yeah well pretty much a standard spring saturday so...
- net session with the lad in the morning
- home for a coffee and finish off the days form before loading a handful of long winded multi bets
- arvo at home pretending to do odd jobs around the house, lawns etc while really knocking back beers and punting on anything with 4 legs and a long nose running around caulfield or randwick and if I'm struggling that morphetville or eagle farm might get some attention too.
- 530/6pm usually end with a couple of boys from next door turning up to get their kids home for dinner but end up having a beer or three while I spout about the sport of kings and how good spring racing is. Make them stay for the last leg of a multi.
- potentially angry bbq around 630pm following my lack of belief of a redzel three-peat
- settle in to a bit of england vs aus between blowing the last of my cash on the wizard of the west at ascot
- AB's game - probably on the couch with me and my nerves being comforted by abusive texts from aus mates and/or UK family (depending on outcome of previous game)
Yeah same old saturday really

Which brings me to one of my ideas to bring a bit of life to the Olympics: instead of being the same five events, the Modern Pentathlon should consist of five Olympic events randomly drawn at the opening ceremony.
In Paris it could be tennis, judo, equestrian, BMX and diving. In LA it might be artistic swimming, archery, taekwondo, weight lifting and surfing.
Reward the ultimate all-rounder. Don't tell me you wouldn't watch some 100kg romanian martial arts guru try and ride a barrel in Tahiti...
i like the idea i saw floating around social media the last olympics
have a random Joe in every event so you get a comparable base line. So in your triathlon the winner comes in with a time of 1.53. And then we wait an hour and a bit for average Joe to finish.
If average Joe can even finish. Most wouldnt make it back up the river!
