You can either read Peter Fitzsimons making a tool of himself[again] or stare at this gif for a while.
I've made my choice and I'm comfortable with it -
@jegga The upvote is for the gif.
Then I read the offending article you clever fuck! The aids looking victim with the constant blood soaked bandage on the lobotomy makes two egregious errors:
- Kiwi fans didn't 'darkly insinuate' anything. The Aussie press were the ones making insinuations. For someone writing a bunch of books you'd think he'd know the difference between imply and insinuate.
- The All Blacks management took pains to avoid implying a single thing.
What rankles most is, he is of course, correct. Deeply concerned at their remarkable display in Super Rugby and whitewash against England, we were left with nothing else but to throw them off on gameday by accusing them of cheating...
-
the very worst part of that "article" was Fitz repeatedly using the term "humble" to describe himself.
Good gif though.

Sorry, what am I missing here?
This seems to have been all opened up and everybody is saying we owe apologies etc ... ? Exactly why?
So it turns out the bug was planted by the security hired by NZ ... exactly what does that prove? It doesn't say why he did it, does it. Nobody insinuated that the Aussies even did it - all of what I read at the time, is that most people viewed it was book makers who were behind it. Nothings changed there.
And lets not put this beside the underarm incident. They aren't even related, in any way, shape or form.
Fitzsimons (whose looking very good these days btw), is just stirring as usual, all in good fun. But Pulver can get fucked.

How batshit over the top would the Aussie media go if a bug was found in an Aussie hotel room while they were preparing for a test at Eden Park or Twickenham?
It's logical to suspect the host country when this kind of thing happens, who else had the most to gain?

The thing that's pissing me off the most about all this is
I have to keep looking at Dagg put that ball down with one hand. Better players than you have cocked that up son. Two fucking hands aye?

Remember that time it happened to Cully? that was a Bled test wasn't it?
Or is my aged memory failing me again?
-
@mariner4life said in Bledisloe I (All Blacks team room bugged):
@Crucial it definitely happened to Cully, but I remember it as a Canes game in NSW?
Yep, I think you may be right. Possibly even the same game Lomu was Red Carded (two YCs. Late tackle and deliberate knock on)?
-
@mariner4life @Crucial canes v tahs. Jonah did similar in same game

@Crucial said in Bledisloe I (All Blacks team room bugged):
Google confirms.
v Waratahs, Sydney 2002.
But not the Lomu RC game. That was 2000 and was a spear tackle on Nathan Grey followed by a deliberate knock on
A spear tackle on Nathan Grey should be rewarded not punished

I was nearly going to say that as well. IIRC it was a funny one. Would probably get a RC instantly now but it was a case of Grey being completely manhandled by the bigger Lomu. There was no apparent intention to spear just what would now be deemed a lack of care taken to bring him to ground safely.

I'm not ruling out incompetent NSW cops just yet.
Hypothetically..
They've come up with nothing. Have decided to go after the easiest target, the bloke who found it. Who happens to be a Kiwi (bonus). It will get dismissed at court and the cops can then just chuck their hands in the air and say "well bugger me I dunno, we tried our best".
