One ominous portent is that - up until last year when the Crusaders didn't make the play-offs - every year of Toddy's lengthy reign, his team was knocked out, playing away from home, by the eventual champions.

On the NSW TAB the Hurricanes are 3:1 on and the Lions 20:1.

Not as bad as it could be here in Hataitai with the temperature feeling like it must be close to eight or nine degrees and the showers (laced with small doses of hail on occasions) coming and lasting little more than about five minutes before departing and another arriving about ten minutes later. The wind chill factor, however, might prove to be a real challenge with a ambitious sou-easterly doing it's best!

It should be but frankly it is a little on the shite side getting my a into g to get there. I note the air temp at the airport is now 6 degrees - absouletly perferct weather conditions for us!

https://www.google.co.nz/search?q=wellington+air+temperature&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b&gfe_rd=cr&ei=UX-lV5uCK67r8AeUqIzADw

A more appealing prospect is joining in with the Marist St Pats supporters after their Jubilee Cup Final defeat by Tawa if their clubrooms is open!

On second thoughts that's where I viewed last years Super Rugby final so don't want to temp fate. The Realm might have to be the venue choice by default.

Last test I ever went to at Athletic Park was All Blacks vs Lions in 1993.

Wind chill factor now bringing the temperature to a current rating @ 6.29pm of zero degrees, getting more perfect by the minute!

Idle curiosity sent me to weatherzone.com.au where I discovered your temperature range today was 5° to 8° and it is now on 6°. I had to tap the screen to check it hadn't gone into slumber mode.

6° is a quite silly temperature.

If it drops below 20° here on the Gold Coast people start ringing their State Member to complain, refuse to pay their local council rates and leave the streets to these migrant types from the east who all talk the same way as you say "Mrry Mxtd".

It might say 4-6 degrees but it feels like -1 or -2. Wind chill is a killer here in Wellington.

Scary isn't it. There was even talk earlier in the week that the Cane's were too relaxed leading up to last years final. Seriously, after decades of failing, wtf would you be complacent leading up to a final.

Right, got the Bourban Glazed Pork Belly, Sticky Choritzo, Kranskys, Bacon, Spring Rolls & with crackers and dip laid out. 6 pack of beer at the ready, with a backup 6 in the fridge in case we either win or lose.

Bring it on!

TBF I expect it is just the media as usual, dont expect the players will be.

You just hope the betting agencies know thier stuff, cos they arent givning the Lions much chance...$2.35 for 13+ or $2.75 for 12 and under for the canes!
