Ali would be perfect at 1st 5 as he could kick. Ross spent all his time on the wing. :)
-

Adam Thompson would have been a hand back earlier in his career. Scott Waldrom too. His brother is probably more of a back than Basteraud.

I played in a kick arse team with Scooter. He trailed at fullback but obviously didn't make the cut there because me. So he mostly played prop, but also most other positions throughout the season. -

I heard that despite not even being close to 6 foot 2 that he was the fastest in the whole Avalon prem side in the sprint training ( obviously Bones never played for Avalon )
-

I can't believe no one has mentioned Marty "Chuck" Berry. What a hard running, rangy rapa boy he was. 6' 2" ( genuine, not Ardie Savea ) and 98 kg back in those days would have earmarked most guys for a 6 or an 8 on their backs. Not our Marty, who could forget him bumping off Goldie Wilson en route to a terrific try in the inaugural Super 12 competition ? Him and Alama Ieremia must have positively terrified the diminutive fellows they came across.
