@Bones your boy

has Bryn evans signed on anywhere for the NPC?
-
@kiwiwomble Yes, with his home province!
-
@stargazer good, he was in too good a form to F off back overseas
-
@stargazer The Cook Islands must be pretty strong on the wings if the traditional Fijian can only make the number 25 jersey!
-
Result: Ta$man Mako HP XV 31 - 24 Cook Islands

Anyone know when the official squads are being announced? Obviously Otago have announced theirs - is it just completely random as to when these announcments are made?

I don't think NZ Rugby care enough at this level to standardise it, unfortunately. I'm pretty sure it is just whenever the individual unions feel like it. There are normally a couple who haven't even named their squad a week before their first game.
-
@canes4life Auckland normally name their's in the week after the club final (played the Saturday after this week's).
-
@canes4life This is all I could find. From the Competition Regulations:

I feel sorry for the Cook Islands I can’t see them beating Samoa or Tonga to progress to the Asia/Pacific Repecharge.

Southland is fast becoming Otago B.
-
@southernmann its probably whats needed for the two regions to competes with those northerners, more movement between to support each other
-
@kiwiwomble Or, Otago has over the years signed several players from the north (some via Uni) so they can now afford to "share" a few with Southland. And they got Nu'u from Southland in return.
I think calling Southland Otago B is a bit patronising tbh. Just like Otago, they get players from all over the country.
