@Steven-Harris Perofeta is still contracted to Taranaki.

Bowden is a good signing if he can stay fit. Unfortunately thats a big if.
I believe he only made it through 1 and 1/2 games of club rugby?
So since his spectacular form with the Tigers he barely made the field for the Blues, did not make the field for the Taniwha, returned to the UK and barely made the field for Bath. Now he taken a year off and just dipped his toe back into club rugby.
Talataina-Mu leaving makes me think that Auckland will pick Plummer this year. I haven't watched any of Grammar TEC's game but it sounds like he's going well based on the match reports. It's also worth noting he is captaining the side.
-
@Duluth when he signed a few years back, was promising signs for all concerned (Blues, Northland & Bowden) but alas injury put paid to any of that.
LIke you say, if he can be fit, he will provide a very good option for Auckland, are there any places at the Blues he could take if he has a great MItre 10 Cup? Experience alone would be good for the young pups coming through.

Doubt there is room at the Blues. 3 10's confirmed for next year (Black, Perofeta, Gatland) and the 12's are also contracted (SBW & TJ)

Wasn't Bowden pretty much 'cut' from the Blues in Tana's first preseason with the Blues a couple of years ago? There was sort of this weird mutual parting of the ways during preseason is what I remember.
Yeah but then he signed with Blackadders Bath side not long after. So I presume he just asked for an early release to chase pounds again
The Blues did well out of that one with hindsight
-
@KiwiMurph I didn't think he was cut, IIRC he was injured whole ITM Cup (even came on here and gave a Taniwha poster a serve for questioning his priorities) and then asked for an early release and went back tot he UK.

Forget the Blues, him signing with Southland implies he missed out on Auckland NPC selection.
I haven't seen him play, is that an obviously wrong selection? How does he compare to someone like Plummer?

Hawera probably hasn't been released by the Brumbies to play for Southland so they would need a replacement.
Speaking of Southland, @Bones' favourite sevens player Dylan Collier has been back playing for Otorohanga in Waikato club rugby.
Score! I bet Waikato are stoked. I couldn't think of a better province for him.
Edit: Next you'll say they're snaring all the talent and Ambrose Curtis has turned up in the Waikato too. Throw those guys outside Guildford and watch the magic happen.

@SammyC Yeah he's a prospect worth watching out for, but it's not as if we've labelled him as an AB in waiting or anything.
No doubt you'll be waiting for him to fail though
Until the Saders poach him

News about the Farah Palmer Cup (women's NPC):
- Ta$man will enter a team for the first time
- There will be 11 participating teams (compared to 9 teams last year), with Hawke's Bay returning as well
- The competition will be split in 2 divisions, just like the Mitre 10 Cup, with 2 cross-over games to be played
I haven't seen a draw yet, so don't know for sure which teams will be in the Premiership division and which teams in the Championship division. Based on last years result, I assume that at least semi-finalists Counties Manukau, Auckland, Canterbury and Wellington will be in the Premiership division, probably joined by Waikato and Manawatu. The remaining teams, North Harbour, Otago, BOP, Ta$man & Hawke's Bay would then compete in the Championship division.
