    @Yeetyaah Sweet. So Tupaea and Messam in the midfield? And Sweeney into the frontrow?

    @Yeetyaah Isn't Kerr-Barlow still in France?

    Edited: I just checked. TKB is still contracted to La Rochelle. It won't be him.

    Google tells me Messam is in NZ - running a coaching clinic in Tauranga three weeks ago.

    36 yo.

    My money is on Liam.

    he's playing club rugby for Raglan!

    Hautapu couldn't find a spot for Liam in their stacked team? 😉

    Messam is a Waikato legend so it's great that he wants to give something back to the province, but we've got some promising loose forwards so I hope this doesn't limit their opportunities.

    I'm waiting on the Steelers to release a match report.

    Edit: Just found a comment on the Harbour FB page that indicates it was one of those games that it is hard to take anything from the result. NH won the first two spells but CM romped over them in the third.
    Without knowing the lineups in each time period it is difficult to judge.

    Adam Thomson will be playing for Waikato in the M10 Cup. The Mooloos to have their own fossils. 😲

    I assume that means both McWhannell and Tucker aren't available.

    @Bovidae Not a bad fossil to have. Will be good at mentoring the younger players with all his experience. Both he and Messam.

    @Yeetyaah

    Stuff article today.

    Thomson said his nomadic career was “no accident”, that he was happy with his career in New Zealand – which included the 2011 World Cup win – and it was almost an overseas experience for him.

    Now back home, he noted every phone call had been a surprise during this return up the ranks in New Zealand, which he also revealed will have him playing for Waikato in this year’s Mitre 10 Cup.

    @Bones Looks like him when you zoom in. Both teams must have been at full strength. In other pics you can see Kahui and Anton Oliver

    Time to wind back the clock and restart the 'messam would be an awesome centre or hooker' conversations.. ha

    @WillieTheWaiter Do you know when the Waikato squad is named? Locks and halfbacks would be the biggest concerns.

    @Bovidae based on how shit they were at announcing the team last year, expect it a couple of weeks before. I feel like I heard Roe is back from Taranaki. With locks, here's hoping McWhannell doesn't get injured.....again.

    @Yeetyaah Roe has been playing for HOB, and I would expect him to be the first choice halfback. I haven't seen either Takarangi or Price listed in club team sheets so perhaps both have left the province or are overseas. Cortez-Lee Ratima and Quintony Ngatai (Charlie's nephew) were the U19 halfbacks last year and are promising players.

    Tim Bond is back playing for Morrinsville Sports but not one for the future. I hope McWhannell is available. Burr and Finau could be used as a lock and there is James Thompson and Schneil Singh. Tucker would be a big loss for the season.

    @Bovidae I saw Takarangi mentioned in an article that he's moved to Southland and playing club rugby down there.

    This is from the article below about the Hurricanes signing Julian Save for the remainder of SRA:

    Savea’s Mitre 10 Cup side is yet to be confirmed, and Wellington Lions have said they are not chasing his signature at this stage.
