Yup, they've had it for a little while now.
-

Are you old enough to remember when Steve Watt (a prop) used to do the kicking for Auckland? He was a pretty good kicker too - unfortunately, they mainly picked him for his kicking. :)

when I played rugby as a kid with Nick White (prop) he did our kicking
-

Great to see Sacred Heart win. My old man went there and my uncle taught there.

MAGS will be tough next week though.
-

As expected Hastings looks the team to beat.

Hamilton BHS came from behind to beat St Johns 32-29 in a thriller on Tues in the Waikato final of the Chiefs region. Rotorua BHS edged Tauranga BC 27-25 in the BOP final.

So that means the Chiefs SFs in the Top 4 will be Hamilton BHS vs New Plymouth BHS and Rotorua BHS vs Wesley. Matches are played this Sat.
-

North Harbour schools final tonight as curtain raiser to Harbour v Counties and it's Westlake vs Massey.

Regardless of the result Westlake are going ahead to the play the winner of the Auckland schools final for a spot in the Top 4 tournament in Palmerston North. Massey are going to the Blues top 4 co-ed playoffs.
-

Hastings Boys beat Hamilton Boys 30-8 in the Super 8 finals.

They play St Pats Town in the semi finals of the Hurricanes Schools this week. The other semi is Wellington College v Napier Boys.

Wellington College at home on Saturday with a 12.00pm kickoff. Will have to make an effort to get along if I don't make it up to McLean Park or get an unexpected late call up from Steve Hansen.
-

24 - 3 to Westlake at half time. All tries scored by the inisi brothers, one has a hat trick and the other one. -

Hamilton BHS beat New Plymouth BHS 36-10. I noted that the NPBHS team had a Lilley, Slater, Boshier and Naholo playing.

Rotorua BHS 35 - Wesley College 20.

Rotorua BHS will host the final with the winner representing the Chiefs region in the Top 4.
-

It made for a nice interlude meeting up and sharing a beer with good number of doolan supporters, all St. Pats Old Boys, tonight who thought their team was the cats whiskers. I took great pleasure of informing them of the scoreline whilst wearing my Hawkes Bay jersey. It will take a major upset to see Hastings get tipped over in the race to find NZs top school team this year.
-

I must admit, it's good to see Hastings do well this year. Getting tired of the same old schools dominating NZ schoolboy rugby

The Blues, Hurricanes and South Island will all have different schools representing them this year compared to 2015. The Chiefs will too if Hamilton beats Rotorua.

I think the SF matchups this year are Blues vs SI and Chiefs vs Hurricanes so there is the possibility of a MAGS-Hastings final if both teams win out.
-
-

Hell yes a very close game there. Those fixtures are usually 50-60 point margins.

Top Four results:
Hamilton BHS 26 v Rotorua BHS 24
Southland BHS 41 v Chirstchurch BHS 20
Hastings BHS 40 v Wellington College 14
MAGS 13 v Westlake BHS 8

The last result is closer than I expected.

Yep much closer for me too. Westlake (or whoever north harbour winner is) usually loses this game by 30 to 50 points. Was 5 all half time! -
