Those sports stars you just can't warm to
-

With some it's just the way they look. It could be the scrawny look of Froome, the smirking look of Hooper or the sulky look of Tiger Woods. Other times it's their behaviour or media whoredom like Dawson (wind ups, moaning) or Ponting (complaining). Other times it is just because they are so bloody good that they've inflicted years of pain on your team - Ponting for one (again).

Then again some of the are just fluffybunnies.
-
Tendulkar.

Amazing batsman, phenomenal. But it's bizarre that I watched the guy for 20 years and have an incredibly neutral feeling about him when I have a pretty strong opinion on most international cricketers after a year or less.

Always got the feeling he held his personality back a lot. Don't blame him for that in his position, but he just had this vaguely nonoffensive inauthentic aura about him. Understanble given the pressure and profile but the guy never broke during his career. He just seemed permenantly stoic - never disappointed, never upset, never angry, never overly happy.

His book kind of peeled back the curtain a little confirming my suspicions - he was a lot more chippy, competitive and aggressive than he ever let on.

Never understood how someone so great had total ambivelance to the captaincy too. -
Roger Federer - probably the best tennis player of all time but comes across (to me anyway) as a smug, conceited bellend.

Not just you Pooler. It's weird, his one handed backhand is a thing of sporting beauty, he is always charming, well mannered, shows good sportsmanship. But I cannot stand him. Maybe it was his "fashion range", or the little jog on the spot he does every time he wins a point, or maybe it's my groundless and irrational view that he would be sunk if the police ever got hold of his hard-drive. -

Serena Williams - I could live a long long time before I see her win another tourney. She needs to cheer up a bit, at least Murray has good reason to be a miserable git.

Funny how one mans trash is another mans treasure!

I love Serena Williams. She always seems happy to me and is always gracious in winning. Also an incredible player.

My hatiest at the moment is Nick Kryogis (Or what ever his name is) what a tool. Can't stand that sort of look at me attention seeking.

And for some reason I am starting to dislike Ronaldo, I hope Wales crush them!
-

Yes. I remember someone saying something a year or two back how glad they were that Ronaldo had won the Ballon D'Or and that maybe this would help him with his lack of self-confidence.
-

Pretty much any Australian tennis player at the moment is a tool, Kryogis, Tomic.. -
Richie McCaw. Should be put in a glass case that says "Break in case of Rugby/Aviation".

Personality of a dial tone, which I'm not sure is either a defense mechanism for privacy, or just the fact he's a boring git (I've been told both).

Also, maybe due a lack of practice, is a poor losing captain interview post-match. The rare times I've seen it, his general tone is "we were shit" and almost never "they played really well and deserved it". Though really, that could be anyone here ;)

First noticed when I think the Clan (or Canes) played a really good game years ago to beat the Crusaders, and he basically didn't mention them at all. Sometimes the questioning doesn't go that way from the interview, but mostly seems to be him. -

Quade Cooper (duh)

The many stupid faces of Shane Watson

Doh! How could we forget Kwade Cooper, pin up for most hatiest sportsman, something about his face..

Can add James O'Connor and the manager to the stars Khoder Nasser to that list

Fuck it, basically any Straya sportsmen gets on most people wick -
Is the point of the thread guys you can't quite place your finger on why you don't like them...

You know the ones, they're great at their chosen discipline, they don't do or say anything particularly twattish and yet, and yet...

Guys like Quade, Ponting, Pocock etc all say and do twatrish things so it's easy to understand why they grind your gears. -

Or it could be one trait that bugs you about them - like people who just rub you up the wrong way. Not necessarily offensive but...

See with Kwade, I've seen him up close at games getting on really well with the kids and holding respectful conversations with people of all ages about rugby.

But those "toxic" comments and the bullshit niggle and knees. You can't go back from that.
-

Kwuaydes actions gave me reason to think he is a knob, similarly the Kyryzos knob...

I cant really think of anyone that winds me up like that gif above right now

Obviously this is different to hating on say Gregan cos he was so damn good.
-
As far as ABs Howlett I never really warmed too. Never quite knew why, the closest I could get is his overly smiley nature after scoring points. When he announced he was leaving after the WC in 2007 I wasn't too cut up about it. The guy was the leading try scorer and everything. Aucklander too.
