Five Golds is an awesome return. Hell we're demanding. Historical NZ medal tables ...
How terrible was Sydney
1 Gold
3 BronzeShit really? I can't remember, but for an almost home games that is a terrible return. I assume Aussie had a big one?

Take out LA (Commie boycott) and it's only London and after where we start a decent bag of medals.
There has been an almost 50% inflation in medal events since 1984.
329 now compared to 221 back then.
If we were to stall at five. 5 gold medals now is really (nearly) equivalent to the 3 in e.g. 1988.
Fair

I'm a gymnastics, diving, synchronized swimming sort of household now, with daughters. Its awesome.
Not as good as the Athetics. But they're the next most enjoyable sports to watch at the games IMO.
Arena at the rhythmic gymnastics is currently going off.

The French chick in this relay looks the mum of one of the competitors. Dressed like a spectator.

Yep, with a 13 year old horse-mad daughter in the house, the last time I'd watched any dressage before Paris was back in the days of Mark Todd and only one channel of coverage. It's two weeks where the rugby and cricket domination of the TV gets seriously challenged

Watched a water polo penalty shoot out this morning. Didn't know that was even a thing. Was quite exciting to be honest.
