I won’t ever claim to know skateboarding but when did they start wearing 90s tennis fashion? Some of these outfits would put Andre Agassi to shame.

@stargazer she was basically 2nd the whole race and then really powered home in the last 50.

The ODT is reporting she took nearly 4 seconds off her personal best. She's certainly brought her form at the right time.

    Fairweather into Tokyo final

    Fairweather into Tokyo final

Kavanagh College pupil Erika Fairweather will swim for an Olympic medal this afternoon.

I saw an interview clip last night. She was saying 2024 had been the plan then she got an opportunity to race in 2020. She said she would grab the opportunity and she is certainly racing like someone with nothing to lose

    A bit of emotion ...

Is there a way of getting rid of those annoying boxes (with the next YT clip) at the end of the video?

Titmus beats Ledecky in the 400 m freestyle. Erika Fairweather finished 8th but a great effort to make the final.

@bovidae she's 17, it's not her favoured event - what a gun to make the final! She swims the 200 heats tonight.

Paris in 3 years time must be the target surely 🙂

@kiwimurph The Canadian is only 14, and a Chinese is also 17, so a young field.

@stargazer a huge final leg by Kyle Chalmers for Aus. He'll be eyeing the 100m gold.

He’s an absolute freak. The 100m final between him and Dressel will be epic.

The Yanks as a team are hard to beat. They just demolished it from the get-go.

That Titmus win was a farken belter, what a great race.

It does suck a bit to have to watch it at 11am, rather than prime time in the evening. I assume it's just to suit the US TV schedule but it takes the wind out of the thing a little bit.

Loving the coverage here in Aus, through the 7+ app I've watched pretty much every sport. What they need is a 'red zone' style channel which only shows finals/medals. I'll watch anything if there's a gold medal on the line. Except dressage.

@crucial some hesitancy crossing the start/finish line there. Is that because it's better to sit 2nd/3rd rather than do all the work and make a late move for the gold?

Van derPoel forgot he wasn’t on the road and cased a big step-down in rocks. Took a big tumble.

He seems to be taking longer at the pits and happy to just stay in touch.
