Went for a walk with the other half for a couple of hundred metres before we noticed it was happy hour at the local. We popped in and caught some of the air pistol shooting. As she rightly pointed out these guys were not athletes and how the fuck is this actually a sport ? I disagreed with the latter point, I mean having a steady hand and shooting takes hand eye co ordination and precision so I think it is a sport……just
We did both agree that watching the fence we had painted that day drying would have been more of a spectacle though.
Shooting has been in the Olympics for ages. I guess it is the pinnacle for a sport that people rarely see. Terrible telly but I'm okay with it being in

The technology that the rifles/pistols appear to have is pretty OTT though.
Like you I can’t disagree with it being there on merits as a sport however tenuous……

All those guides they wear seem to make it difficult not to just pull the trigger. I'm sure it is much harder than it appears. Olympic paintball would be more exciting

Archery is worse, they should have to make their own and shoot with a self bow

A slow time for a final.
Morning final vs heats at night.
And a heavy early morning programme...

Based on a far from normal build-up, we are unlikely to see many WR beating performances IMHO
