Woken up to a silver from the Women's 470 and the obvious gold from the Men's 49ers. Nice. The men didn't even need to win but did anyway.

Women's 49ers FX up now. Just gotta beat Spain, Brazil and Denmark for gold, two of them for silver and one for bronze.
-

Blimey, you kept your entry quiet. Did you get kitted up in time for the start? -

Tactical mistake-Brazilians made up ground on the left of the course, but we were still ahead at the 4th mark (I think, I'm tired). We should have immediately gone left around the mark too-but split and then they passed us....congrats both teams for doing very well.

I know Rowers eat an absolute shitload at least, I can't imagine what a weightlifters food bill looks like.
I was more talking what they were eating would play havoc on them, high fat, salt, sugars whereas most of them would have specific controlled diets, i know they are letting thier hair down, but surely spend a bit of time visiting herb. -

I don't think it would TR. Yeah it sounds extraordinary to think what they're putting in that amount of saturated fats, salt and refined sugar, but having a binge after burning up a hell of a lot of energy building up to their events and then the actual competing would mean a big burst in 'energy' would be more about bringing some equilibrium.

Plus they'll need the extra energy boost for the partying and extracurricular activities thereafter..... -

After years of eating healthy those Maccy Ds must taste good, but I reckon with all that fat... let's just say I wouldn't want want to be clearing out the Olympic dunnies. -

A few of those weightlifters look like they spend a bit of time at Maccas anyway, on their way to KFC!

Kozak is as dominant in the 500 m as Carrington is in the 200 m. A gold medal was always a longshot.

It's still a fantastic achievement by Lisa and she has created some NZ history at an Olympics - the first female athlete to win more than one medal at the same Olympics.
-

is the Shotput final on shortly?
