It's still a fantastic achievement by Lisa and she has created some NZ history at an Olympics - the first female athlete to win more than one medal at the same Olympics.

And one real big throw about twenty two and a quarter metres by a Yank thrower. Looks like Tom Walsh will be looking at silver at best after that one.

And Jacko with a good 20.5 metre throw in his latest shot. Shame Mark Watson is doing the commentary - it means I have to have the mute in operation.

Willis third in the semi, through to final.

Fuck I love Nigel Yalden commentating. He can make anything sound the most exciting thing ever.

Woah, thought the Great Wall was about to close up in front of Wilis about 70m out.

Very good finish from Willis, went from nowhere to third in the last 30 odd metres.

Willis got in a couple of bad spots but always looked comfortable, and once he found a gap powered home to qualify

Jacko's third throw is not an improvement but at this stage he is still sitting in 7th place, just inside the eight to continue on woth another three throws

Tom nearly out to 22.00 metres with his third but it is red flagged, damn it. Worse news for Jacko as he ends up in ninthth by a small margin and misses the cut.

Jacko Gill out, unfortunately couldn't put in a big throw when it mattered.
