    @GM1 I really hope they can go a decade undefeated at home - we last lost on the 12th of September 2009. How many home tests between now and end of 2019s season? Guessing 3x northern tours plus 3 home RC games, so 6 per year for 3 full seasons plus this weekend's = another 19 tests. Takes home streak to 62.

    @TeWaio

    You know how Facebook reminds us of things from a few years back ? I remember that loss against SA, the much maligned Stephen Donald was 1st five. I also had an awesome BBQ and someone drunk every single Macs in the house.

    Turns out it was me.

    Mate, I was there too and Carter was 10. See link above. He put in a bomb into the corner to win it in the final minutes - we damn near burgled it, but in no way deserved to get up that night.

    My abiding memory was Frank Steyn kicking two monster penalties from 60 m, with a gentle breeze behind him. Just incredible - we could not believe they went over.

    Edit: Donald was at 12!

    Musta been about the last time Nonu played 13 surely !

    Was it Donald 10 and DC 12 in Hong Kong ?

    In hindsight I reckon Donald should have concentrated on 12, he had all the goods to play there.

    McCaw played his 74th test at Hamilton in 2009.

    Carry the one...

    Exactly halfway through his test career he suffered his final home loss.

    In many ways that is appropriate. That 2009 test was the end of an All Black era, with a new era of dominance beginning straight after (which is still going on).

    Still a bloody good team there, obviously the name Isaac Ross stands out like dogs balls but he wasn't exactly shit....just not as good as others.

    Should have been way better than he was. Incredibly gifted, just gad to adjust his game and do a bit more hard work before flouncing around like a winger

    @booboo

    I've never seen a lock who could ghost past defenders like him, it was like watching an oversized Stephen Larkham with the ball in hand !

    but yeah, completely take your point in regards to the other parts of his game.

    I don't think Isaac Ross hit more than 2-3 rucks in any game I saw him play.

    also copped a brutal yellow in SA when he came round the back of a ruck to a ball that was clearly out. My memory is that he was left behind to bulk up over the end of year tour/summer break at the end of 09, and then new laws then favoured light mobile locks! Who'd be a pro rugby player with the continual rule changes.

    @nzzp Not a great night that one. Too much dropped ball and the intercept by de Villiers from a Carter pass which sealed the deal.

    @Bovidae

    I think I read somewhere that Nonu considered that pair the best midfield him and Smith ( not playing obviously ) ever came up against and they sure could play. Between them they had all the skills.

    I was drunk but of course I did.

    To paraphrase the old cliché about one swallow not making a summer I will point out that one awesome cameo in an ill fitting jersey does not make a great All Black career.

    Those words are harsh coming from me, I fucken love Donald.

    Nah, I think things worked out fairly well for Donald.

    Though I was actually referring to Nonu with that post anyway. Did you watch the 2015 RWC final? His last game for the ABs and the one where he played 13 for the entire second half?

    15 in a row now . Bryan Habana beat Campeses try scoring record last night too. I know there's a Japanese guy two tries ahead of him but he must have played some woeful test teams at rwc qualifiers etc and Habana actually played quality sides to get to the top. Massive achievement for him, I wonder how many came from intercepts.
