Transformer Boks v Irish Projects - Ireland's SA Tour 2016 - Series Decider
-
Once you're in the air what can you do? He jumped, Lambie came forward and they made contact. It's one of the things that's going to happen in a rugby game.

Pity though, would have preferred a 15v15 contest
-
Good try by SA. Defensive line pulled apart.

Henshaw with a high tackle. That's one for later consideration. -

Ireland gameplan to kill all our flyhalves?

-
And Henshaw is going to the bin.
-
Marshall was possibly blocked by de Allende but ignored.

This match is now in the bin. -
Henshaw to the bin with a tackle more deserving of red than the Stander incident
-
Best needs to put his frustration away and get cool heads going.
-
Lovely chunk of attacking phases from Ireland and then Jackson receives and slots a droppie.

13-13 -
Great stripping work by Henderson on de Jäger.
-
13-13 at the break.

Second half could be very painful. -
Don't stress too much. Same old South Africa. Can't create space for each other and turn the ball over repeatedly in attacking positions through rookie mistakes.

AC spoke of a more attaching approach but he'll be singing a different tune right after they lose their first game -
Hmm. Schmidt, Farrell & Co need to stick the team's head in a fridge during the break.

Too much hothead stuff. -
I'll take that though. Opportunist try to Ireland. Jackson converts
-
Ireland playing all the rugby. Springboks gonna be in trouble if they concede again.

And if they lose, we are in for a very painful 4 years. -

they surely cannot lose though! Right?

Is it wrong that I hope they do?

It's the least they deserve for what Heyneke Meyer had to go through last year. You want to bring politics into sport, it's what you deserve -
Brilliant work by Hendo and Toner.
-
Furlong under pressure at the scrum. Penalty coming up
-
And it comes to Ireland!!

Jackson is going for the posts from halfway.

Ambitious. -
Hits the right post!

Le Roux clears -
Does this ref not know the meaning of advantage?
-
Even if the Boks claw it back, which looks unlikely, this has been a pathetic performance.

Doomsayers proven right I suppose -

Almost cant believe it.. Almost

When your coaching team consists of quotas with CV's such as this:

Congrats Ireland, made history today, and I'm sure many more teams will continue to do so for a while.
-
Oh yes.

That'll do nicely.

14 men. Outstanding.

Commiserations South Africa. -
Oh and I love the bookies

Wales win on the handicap.

England win.

Ireland win.

Treble handicap on Wales, England and Ireland win.

Woo hoo! -
Never been so disappointed to have made a quick 500 bucks
-
What a win for Ireland! Congratulations to them and Joe Schmidt.

Sad to see the Springboks in such a sharp decline though. The political situation in South Africa at the moment is hindering the side. -

great win for Ireland.

Man, the boks were dire. and that is being kind to them
-
U20 quotas just lost to Argentina as well. And the sports minister has the nerve to say that it's teething problems and that we need to pray for the racists. If that's the case then I pray for you Mr. Mbalula

Nothing like a bok team today. no pride, urgency or ferocity.
-
Fairplay to Ireland. They played with heart and courage.

SA strike me as finished (at least in the short term) as a world power. Imagine if the ABs had their record in recent times! -

Only game I didn't get to watch. 14 men v SA in SA. A great win. Congrats to PH and the rest of the Irish Ferners. Great day, enjoy it. :drinks:

-

Well, I looked up the red card. My first reaction was yellow not red, but then I watched a second time. I think the green 6 takes off far too late to seriously charge the kick. That, combined with the contact to the head means I can see why the ref went red.

Still feels a bit weird for something that clearly doesn't have intent, but I can see why they got to where they got to.
-

SA clearly in trouble as a rugby power. Ireland with its full squad and 15 men on the field you would expect to have an even chance of beating South Africa if the game was played in Dublin.

14 men and away from home was something that was pretty much unthinkable. Not now.
-

Stander turned his body because he didn't want a front on collision. If there was a front on collision it would have been far more dangerous for both players but he probably wouldn't have been penalised. I think it was a red card by the regulations but it shows how silly those regulations are.

-

Is SA really in that much trouble? It's not like they beat Ireland every time they play them. It's now 3-3 in their last 6 matches.

In Dublin it has always been a fair fight granted,, but the Irish haven't even come close on South African soil.
-

It was only their 8th test in South Africa. Before Ireland's injury crisis I thought they would nick one test. It was more the circumstances of the win which surprised me.

I reckon South Africa are still a good team though.
-

TBF, this was the first match on South African soil since 2004 so these games are really the first since Ireland have become a reasonably big boy ;).
