The fact so many first choice players are unavailable actually adds to the interest of this competition in the first round.
So many players in Fantasy have selected injured players. For example 17% of players still have Tom Wright in their team, 16.1% of players have Billy Proctor, 15.8% of players have Sotutu, 10% have Love etc.
Players have even selected Reds players even though they aren't playing this week.
Fair to say most of us will at least escape from being bottom of the log after round 1.
-
Over 50% of players have likely selected Roigard and McKenzie as their 9/10 combo even though McKenzie is playing 15 this week. 61% of players have picked Roigard and 51% of players have selected McKenzie.
-
It is good it shows if a player is starting or a bench player too...they have some parts set up well, others less so...
-
Who's willing to share their team?
I'm happy to post mine for this week once the season has kicked off.
-
Yeah it won't be perfect but it's great they have the flags on players whether they are selected and starting etc, makes it a bit easier to work out. I have Roigard as my captain, my thinking is he's going to be a machine racking up the points in Fantasy given how involved he is in each play.

Yeah he's my captain as well. My thinking is he'll need to do the bulk of the decision making tomorrow which will mean he has plenty of involvements. Let's hope he brings that deadly sniping game.

I picked them as 9/10
I think McKenzie could be worth more points from 15. Especially if he is goal kicking. But I didn't spend too long looking at the point scoring system. -

@Canes4life have to think with injuries and the supreme player knowledge on here, most of us will have many of the same players...

Surely Ferners have the superior knowledge on players compared to most in the comp.

@Canes4life Shirley we do....

I'm hoping it doesn't matter which position they're actually playing in if they're on the field but not available in that specific position on the fantasy league.
-
@antipodean don't expect it will.
If they are playing they can earn points.

Despite the apparent instructions about being able to change before every game I'm only making changes once a week before game 1 of that round.
Changing EVERY game makes no sense to me, and I can't make the time to watch them all live, or be on my phone at prescribed times.
Will make little difference to my finishing position I'm sure.
Nah I went digging on this, and you can't change a player once their team starts their game for that round. So only useful if someone gets injured near gameday.
Presumably unused budget can be used next week?
I also don't see anything around player values going up or down throughout the season - anyone know whether that will be happening?
-
@delicatessen kinda defeats the purpose of they don't change value?

Yeah? Isn't that what I said?
Team should be locked at kick off in the first game of the round.

That would be a bit shit for game day replacements.

The way you said it I thought they were allowing replacements of any player at any point in the round. So if Roigard shat the bed you could replace him with Funaki before Saturday's game. Which would be preposterous.

@Bones agree. But I wouldn't put it past this crowd.
Yeah after spending so long putting together something akin to a supermarket website from a decade or two ago, I tend to agree.
