RIP 2025

This sucks...
American basketballer Kevin Braswell – who spent a number of years as a player and coach in New Zealand – has died aged 46. Braswell most recently coached in Japan, where he underwent emergency heart surgery last month. He remained hospitalised in Utsunomiya until his death yesterday which was announced by the Utsunomiya Brex.

Found a home in NZ after playing around Europe following his college days at the Hoyas.
Part of that fantastic 2011 Breakers championship team. His influence on NZ ball would come more in his post playing days and coaching juniors and men’s teams in NZ. Didn’t really know him personally but met him a couple of times with a few of the Breakers, but know quite a few guys that played with or were coached by him (or their kids were) and they couldn’t speak more highly about the man.

Braswell is still the Hoyas's all-time leader in assists and steals. Mentioned in this article. Also a big influence on Shea Ili.

Some nice tributes from the Hoyas official and fan socials over the last few days.
My favourite game from KB was that game 2 of the grand final series in 2011. Hit some big shots.

Gene Hackman, 95. Strange circumstances.

Hackman did very few poor movies and several great ones.
Indeed, none more so than this.
What a great adversary to Clint. Amazing scene all round.
RIP
Double upvote! Probably best Western I’ve seen.
At the risk of detracting from Gene Hackman I’d call it 4th best. I prefer a couple of the dollars trilogy and Outlaw Josey Wales…..which given how brilliant Unforgiven is is really saying something

@Billy-Tell said in RIP 2025:
Strange or not is very sad news
The guy who got to 95, his younger wife or the poor little dog?
I hate to be a bigot, but it really does depend on which breed the dog is.
