Travis Head is a very good test batsman but Harry Brook is a generational talent.
how do you rate him vs Gayle?
Far less tatts, much pastier, no dreads……less controversial, less dodgy come ons to hot female reporters…..
He has a lot of work to do.

Hazelwood on last legs with ageing type of injuries,
holy shit, this! He missed the last test with a side strain - and then struglged to get past 5 overs in this test. Unfortunate, but you do wonder if he's done now.
he's 34 in Jan, Starc is 35 in Jan, Cummins is 32 in May -
In spite of Starc’s aging, I don’t think he has ever bowled so well of recent times. The pace is still there but his control is excellent.
If I were starting a cricket team it would be Bumrah and Starc opening the bowling.
-
Yeah he's looked great. Easily the best first over bowler I've seen, he seems to take a ridiculous number of wickets in all formats. As an opener you'd be shitting yourself, knowing there's a late swinging yorker on its way...
Edit: hard to say which was his best first over wicket, but in terms of consequence it's close between BMac in the 2015 World Cup Final or Rory Burns first ball of the 2021 Ashes
-
@barbarian that BMac wicket really derailed us, he was so dangerous that tournament and if he'd gotten away even just a bit and got a quick 30 or 40, our confidence would have been right up. It wasn't just that he got him out first over as well, the manner of the dismissal put us on the back foot; BMac didn't even look like hitting it, the ball was just way too good for him.

Would Travis Head be the best cricketer in the world right now?
Head has been going well but his record even in recent times is only very good without being great. For me Bumrah is at the top, conditions at home don't often suit him and playing overseas is always challenging, but he just continues to carve up and his record just gets better all the time. Incredible player. After that I have Kane, he has been consistently the best batsmen in the world for a number of years now but just doesn't play as much as the others. He is aging like a fine wine at the moment, consistently knocking out 50s and 100s whenever he gets the chance, which won't be for a while now as our summer of tests appears to be over already...

Lance Morris is quick
think he was meant to tour India but got injured, have heard he is quick
-
Marsh now gone to Deep
meanwhile Bumrah's average has dropped down to 19.61....elite
and a current series average of 11.25 lol
-
Surely not... could make for an interesting chase though if weather permits

More quick wickets.
Pant to go nuts.
Conceivable.
Indian fans were doing the rain dance yesterday. Might be Aussie fans today!

100%. I remember watching and thinking 'game over' the moment he knocked him over. He was so important in NZ's run that tournament.

Bumrah has a huge chunk of India's wickets this series. Without him they'd be very middling
absolutely I agree with @No-Quarter about Bumrah best cricketer in the world right now, he has the cheat code

Yeah he is quick sprays it a bit hence his nickname Wild thing.
The quickest could be 19 year old Mahli Beardman he already is bowling 145ks ,
He has a contract with the Scorchers for the Big Bash. -

Interesting point.
In the absence of world class all rounders ( Ashwin and Jadeja have fantastic numbers but definite home track bullies ) is the best player a bowler or batsman ?
Brook and Bumrah are absolute first picks in a World XI for me.
Maybe Bumrah is the best based on more longevity?
