Poll: AB wins on EOYT for a decent season

Nice time to revisit this.
We're heading in to a French game with some belief, and with the tour already a success.
Couple of very different wins, but over all we're doing pretty well
Thought about this today.
Assuming a win against Italy, not being smacked by France would constitute a pass mark for the season.

Nah. We were better. Sliding doors. Would have been an unlucky loss. Deserved win.
An England win would have been lucky IMO. They did not deserve to win this game as they were not dominant up front while their backline was unable to threaten the NZ try line. It's only the poor NZ discipline that kept them in the game.

Life is so unfair, a win solely due to our superior climate.
It's almost like NH scribes were destined to choke on a giant pie slice of karma. -
I think this is the difference between Kiwi fans and most other sides.
I'm with @booboo re sliding doors in the English game, shit, they created fuck all, got thier try against the run of play, so really were never in it, but were, so we werent lucky to win, they were lucky to be in a position to steal it.
A win is a win, luck, good fortune, whatever, is still a W.
We seem to want to want a comprehensive win every time, regardless of oppostion.
Sure Ireland may have been poor, but this was often the result of the pressure we put on them.
I think some on here, similar to Fozzies time in the saddle, want to find shit to pick holes in everything for this coaching group (granted the media have played thier part) rather than enjoy the win for what it was, an away win over the Irish, that were currently ranked #1.
Sure some of the rugby hasnt been pretty, but fuck, 2 wins away v England then Ireland, that plenty thought we'd lose, sets us up for an epic encounter with France, that if we win, has to set us along the right path after the hiccups earlier in the year.

They are the best sort of wins.
When the margins in pro sports can be so fine, it’s getting a win like that one that both entertains and also has you smiling afterwards with a sense of relief and jubilation. There’s been so many of them over the years but a few memorable ones:
- 2011 RWC final
- Cardiff win in 04
- Suncorp against the Wallabies in 2008
- Sydney wins in 09 and 10
- that test in Ireland in 2013
- Twickenham in 2014 (and a couple others there too…)

Agree with TR but I also think that the performance this weekend will be the tipping point of ‘overall heading in the right direction’ versus ‘jury is out’.
If we win this week (and stomp Italy) then all in all this year is a success and we are on the right track.
If we lose in a close one and stomp Italy, then still a good year if we play well.
If France stomps us and we go back to recent style (not offering much in the last 20 etc), then the jury is very much out.

The English climate works against sliding doors...
