Hope is the killer. They bat right down to, and including Washington. Until he's gone I don't believe

Will Young has been amazing in close all series. Shame he could no hold on to that one, but it was a very tough chance
catching critical. We put down the chances in their first innings - so far not so much

Fuck sake I shouted at the TV to review that, was never going over

While we have a moment…..
Happy birthday to former BC Bryan Young. 60 today.
I remember him getting a gutsy 40 odd not out back in 1990 to help beat Australia by one run. They couldn’t chase down 194 in 50 overs !
MOTM though vs a very good Aussie side. Chris Harris and Andrew Jones decided to play a test match instead of an ODI judging by those strike rates.
….and as if to reinforce even more how much the game has changed its worth pointing out he got 39 on test debut……OFF 167 BALLS !!!!!

@MN5 I was going to point at Bryan vs Pakistan as a contender for your most maligned guy to come good (vs Santner).
Not that he was particularly maligned - but, that was a performance miles beyond expectation.
Skippy's two double hundreds were as well - but, only in retrospect.

Yeah Young probably played in the wrong era, things had moved a bit quicker than in the 80s. Mind you he would have looked like Virender Sehwag compared to Trevor Franklin !
He was a good test match opener though, that 267 was extraordinary !
Sinclair was disappointing, amazing start and a first class record to suggest he should have been better at test level than he was.
