    @MN5 just went to school to eat his lunch and play rugby is what I’ve heard. Not the sharpest tool in the shed. Needs time. Amazing athlete

    Dmac completed more tackles per 80 minutes than any other NZ 10 to play more than 5 games.

    Completed per 80 minutes
    6.57 Mckenzie
    5.26 Ioane
    4.85 Plummer

    Mckenize, Plummer, and Perofeta are the top 3 for total.

    Total completed tackles:
    83 Mckenzie
    71 Plummer
    33 Perofeta

    I'd be surprised if Sotutu is in the mix for either squad.

    Suafoa and Lio Willie were preferred last year in NZ XV

    If Sotutu plays for England rather than fighting for his place back, maybe the coaches were right.

    Jeez, imagine if Kaino had decided to go and have a sulk rather than work hard at developing his game following rejection. Not once, but twice.

    @stodders

    Nah that's BS.

    He'll never get selected again. There is an obvious feud happening between him and Ryan.

    Sotutus defence has never been as bad as Canes has in the last few games. The double standards are obvious.

    Even if he is not going to England, good on Ioane keeping the shit stirring going, much more interesting. Or it is a great fake news

    Fucking hell, Akira throwing bombs with that one.

    I assume its an inside joke (i.e., playing for England wasn't meant to be) as there will and should be a riot if Sotutu isn’t picked.

    If the ABs don't pick the best loose forward in the country, which IMO is Sotutu by some margin, then they prove how crap they really are.

    Sititi is better than Sotutu based off recent matches.
    I think Razor picked a really good one in Sititi and should be given credit. (one of his few innovative picks)
    (although I think Sotutu should also have been picked)

    Based on the Tests Sotutu hasn't played?

    @Frank

    Sititi along with rest of the Chiefs forwards got dominated in the SR final.

    Sititi grew into the game against SA after struggling with the physicality. Ultimately his efforts did not make a difference in that game.

    The other two games were against Wallabies. A team which posters regularly claimed were meaningless for other players like Ioane back in 2021 even though back then the Wallabies were a lot better.

    The jury is still out on Sititi but I would say that Sotutu and Sititi have different strengths anyway.

    Yeah nothing to do with the "oh, if he knuckles down and works hard, he'll get his chance eventually" bullshit.

    It's pretty obvious that they have no time for him, otherwise they would have tried to work on the things they don't like about his play in the camp, as opposed to shafting him completely to play some semi professional rugby which he will learn nothing from.

    I'm making my way through the thread and was going to ask for these types of stats. DMac is a fearless tackler and he's always tackling up in the line, of course he's going to miss some on size alone.

    Yeah I don't think DMacs defense is an issue and it's had zero impact on results this year.

    Based off Sititi's efforts against the Wallabies vs Sotutu's efforts in NPC.

    Sotutu - if he is so good - should be absolutely dominating this lower tier of rugby. He isn't.
