Just been given the backline for this weekend below. Again, this contact hasn’t led me astray before so very reliable. Very very surprised by some choices and the amount of changes which makes you question the accuracy but fuck it, hasn’t been wrong yet so yeah sharing with the fern. Caleb Clarke is out injured.
- Ratima
- Dmac
- Telea
- J.Barrett
- Ioane/ALB(this isn’t yet decided)
- Reece
15. Jordan
That concerns me greatly for reasons discussed ad nauseum.
I still can't comprehend how the NZ SR team with the greatest representation in the starting XV came from the worst team and the SR Champions had the least.

@BerniesCorner but it is in the law book (as is being repeated often). Jordie ripped the ball (I think he moved towards the ball more in hope to try and hold it up as Bongi reached, but ripped is pushing it), and Bongi then landed on it.
For me, I think Bongi lost control and it was a fortuitous try. Tell me what the reaction would have been if that try went the other way 😂
They'd have lost their shit. Numerous replays on the screen and videos with arrows galore.

@antipodean this woulda happened

That team is not from my normal source.
But a mate who also got the Semifinal team spot on. So fairly accurate. But we will see today.Could be one change from that lineup

Sititi may have played 6 once subs came on but certainly never started there for the Chiefs IIRC. I'd say out of the three positions it is the one Sititi has the least experience in. Again, the loose forward mix is unbalanced when Savea is always at no.8.
For me I just want to see him play better. He’s our number 8 and short of a Zinny or a Kieran Read type appearing in the NPC, then he’s the man. We just need him to find some of that 2023 form.
Trying Sititi at blindside isn’t a bad strategy. Certainly add some speed. At this point of his career I’m not too concerned about him starting there. We’ve done it before with a host of players who then settled into a role.

@ACT-Crusader the funny thing about Savea's 2023 form was he played fucking TIGHT. Think back to those RWC play-offs. He was all graft. Carried in the tight, actually hit rucks. Was far narrower than at any other time under those coaches. He was like a different player. Less YouTube shit, just hard footy.

@nostrildamus for sure. Also can’t understand why SFM wasn’t allowed a second conversion attempt with ABs and physios not retiring behind tryline and advancing before SFM addressed the ball.
Yes the ref should have paused the game just like he does for most every Bok paper cut and tummy rumble.

What was his punishment btw? A year without pies and no beer before lunch?

If he does a Jerry Collins-level positional shift I won't complain.

True, JC and Rodders were 8 and 6 respectively when they first played for Wellington then things changed for the ( even ) better

So much for Ethan being over his injuries then

Ethan Blackadder is injured that is the reason Sititi is starting and Jacobsen is on the bench.
He was due. Hes had his handful of games, time for him to wrap up for 6 months and we will see him again for a cameo in super rugby season.
-
Jacobson not Jacobsen. He's not a Danish architect.
