The question is does Razor have the guts to can some of these experienced players
I have my doubts
They gutsed their way to a RWC final but the reality is some of these lads have been living a charmed life for 3 or 4 years.
Cane and TJP are occupying jerseys during their "notice period".
Ardie and Beaudie and Cane swanned in from Japan.
A clamour in the media and insinuations from Razor that they want overseas lads to come back.
Lads who played super and won the title left disenfranchised by being omitted from squad.
A coach resigning/being sacked after 4 games.
The whole project is sour.
Razor should have got it when Foster got it, when he had his loyal lieutenants Mo'unga and Whitelock to implement his plan.
He is all dressed up now with nowhere to go, He has arrived to the prom after the music stopped.
I've been critical of Cane's play and (lack of) leadership in the past but he's provided the platform for NZ to win the past two matches
No mean feat for someone obviously short of top class minutes in his legs

It is pretty clear to me that BB doesn't have the pace or confidence to draw and pass at a top AB level. And his kicking is still rocks silt and a few small diamonds.
Beaudens legs cant do what his brain wants anymore.
His wheels got him out of his ridiculous decision making in the past.
Im watching one of my favourite players wither on the vine.

He needs time and minutes to keep TJP on the bench or off the team sheet all together
As far as I saw the coach benched him, he could have played 80?
Absolutely
That's shit coaching / hoping that TJP can pull something out of the bag
Razor knows that's not the case now, so play Cortez until he drops

I dont blame Cane. Hes been great.
But we used to be ruthless. There was no sentiment.
We used to back our depth and move on.
Piutau, Dagg in 2015, Nonu in 2007, Ben Smith in 2019.

Razor knows that's not the case now, so play Cortez until he dropsAgreed. And TJP mouthing off the second week in a row, risking a second yellow card would be an instant drop from me if I was coach (but I don't breakdance any more).
I'm a bit worried about Aumua, plenty to like but Codie is currently hard to replace.

@Victor-Meldrew no reliable kicker in international rugby, no winning.
ABs had the opportunity in 2nd half to go back in front and put pressure back on SA. They failed. That isn’t Robertson’s fault.
Ardie failing to secure the ball at the back of the maul after winning the lineout. Is that the coach’s fault? And then the team compounded it with a penalty with a reckless clear out to gift SA an exit.
Sevu Reece switching off in the corner, more interested in engaging the ref rather than watching Marx.
There are some players who have stood up. Lomax, Taylor, Williams, Va’ai, Cane, Sititi. Ratima was v good too.
The back line, which has been a source of strength for NZ is currently the weak link. The forwards are fronting up in the set piece and breakdown. They are winning enough ball, but the backs are not penetrating enough. In this area, there will be significant change.
Roigard will come back, 10 is up for grabs (let’s see if Mo’unga comes back too), centres has competition. The outside backs need a shakeup. NZ missed Clark today and someone at 15 who is a confident high ball catcher.

Don’t lose your shit guys. ABs we’re better team today and if they taken opportunities would have won by 10. Farking annoying grasping defeat out of mouth of victory, but I’d rather be Razor than Rassie looking at that.
The better team doesn't shit the bed in the last 20 minutes repeatedly

NOT A CHANCE

Interestingly all but 2 are younger players. I think we need new blood.
Shout out to Darry who has been v g this year. -
@MiketheSnow Boks are on top right now. But Rassie knows he has some major surgery to do to SA in next 2 years. This year was all about cementing their legacy with this group.

So you're saying he is fat and about to vanish?

@nostrildamus TJP needs to go. His work at the back of the ruck was terrible. His passing and kicking are issues. His mouthing of this test was unforgivable.

The young kids who've been playing in the URC the past two seasons are ready to go
I don't envisage the big drop off in performances that others are anticipating / expecting / hoping for

Well played

Another pleasing performance by the forwards. Let down by shit kicking by the backs and a porous midfield defence. Reece needs to be dropped for the Marx try. It would have been OK had he been steamrolled, but that was terrible. Caleb Clarke missing big time
-
There isn’t much between the teams. Experience probably the telling factor.
Rassie has worked with this team and brought in fresh blood to a settled style for 7 years now. If Robertson is trying to embed his ethos, he is well behind Rassie and things take time.
Not sure if many remember what the ABs were like in 2004 when Henry, Hansen and Smith took over. They weren’t the great team they became. In fact, they were quite average.
-
@MiketheSnow let’s see. There is a lot of experience in the old dogs. That only comes with time.

Okay, but we're they tucking idiots?

Yeah they made some big calls on the end of year tour and went with youth (Carter, So'oialo, Collins etc)
Let's see if Razor does the same
I'm not holding my breath
