@canefan enjoy the win, the blues had a fucking awesome season and it's been pretty to watch too. You should be proud.
But they weren't playing against international sides.
Problem is I live in AKL, but I'm a Canes fan (you know, @canefan? )

The point you are missing is we want the ABs to pick a powerful forward pack and play close before going wide.
Instead of the fluffy flair oriented crap from the past four years.
I don't know where I said otherwise.

Well that’s what we were talking about, how about you explain why the Blues game plan wouldn’t work at international level.
Or explain what your post meant. Or keep replying to points nobody is making.

A better way to put it - the blues are playing world cup winning rugby just as much as Leinster and La Rochelle were last year.
Nope. The Blues are playing a style that will translate well into test level. It is a classic style that has served the ABs in the past, and will do so again. How is that difficult to understand, or are you deliberately trying to troll us?

Only about the 3rd game I watched all season but blues were excellent to a man. Fantastic display and just wiped the floor with the chiefs.

Kicking metres:
Different kicking tactics from the teams. Total kick metres was similar but the Blues used the halfbacks more (which makes sense given the weather) and the Chiefs relied heavily on McKenzie
Also, a few more attacking kicks adding to the variety
-
I didn't realize Lam kicked that much. This is good.
-
Two kicks. I only remember one but guess they both got decent metres

The road to Damascus?

Last year Schmidt wasn't available, and it seemed that MacDonald was too busy securing his AB assistant coach position.
Huge difference with Cotter this year was his 100% commitment. Which had to compensate for O’Halloran's early season withdrawal due to illness. They got Tony Brown in for a few weeks as attack coach, but they basically didn't have one for much of the season.
Was necessity the mother of invention?
Did Cotter go super-minimal to compensate?
How much of an un-sung hero was skills coach Halangahu?
How ridiculous is it that Akira Ioane is the best six by a mile in NZ and has to go overseas?

@KiwiMurph Funnily enough, I ran past one yesterday in Chch which I found strange but funny at the same time.
