Faleafaga had a bit of a mare... his kicking game leaves a lot to be desired. I'm not convinced that at this stage of his career, he is a better player than Millar who does the basics far better. Should trust his running game, because that is his strength.
Yeah wasn’t his best performance but a game you sort of half expect. Huge ask going up there with a lot the other of the main players not on the field surrounding him. He did struggle but you can tell those are issues he can grow from and improve on. Heck of a talent. I remember Lima’s first couple seasons and he looked a lot worse than Falefaga has so I still hold out hope for him.
Agree with you on the Millar part about him getting the basics done better. I would probably say Millars organization is ahead of Faleafagas too but that’s all about time in the saddle.

The one thing Sopoaga always had though, was a decent length punt. Faleafaga doesn't have that, and I am not sure that is something that really improves... (or not as much as we need it to)
This is not to say he won't have a great career, because he is an extremely good playmaker, and another year in the NPC will do him good, but if you don't have a long punt, in the modern game it is difficult.

Anyone who played average tonight gets off for me. That wind was insane.

In terms of the kicking with Faleafaga. The wind was an absolute nightmare. The first half saw kicks that wpuld have gone 30m further just die. It was a horrible night for kickers.

I was lucky enough to have corporate tickets. Gave up the stands after 10 mins to go inside. Shitshow

I know you love Faleafaga, but his kicking decision-making was fairly average... and it is not a new issue.

I find live games hard to watch. Wellington stadium is particularly difficult. I can't comment on how players went. He was always gping to struggle in this game. Players rested against the best team in the comp... There is nothing to take out of it.

@Canes4life it was, extremely windy and frickn cold as a mofo

Any word re: TJ and Love? TJ looked particularly bad live.
Sounds like it’s heavy bruising. Hopefully he’s right for next week, if not I’d be happy to start Vijoen.

Yeah I haven’t been to a game like that in a long time. You couldn’t escape it.
Took my daughter to her first game. She’s just under 2 so wasn’t ideal weather but she braved the conditions like a trooper.

Thought Love's looked more concerning.
TJ's I think was one of those really bad collisions, where the human body takes it worse as there was no expectation of occurrence (hurts more). I'd be surprised if he was out for the QF, and stunned if he had actually done anything structural to it from the initial impact
Love though, looked to be limping quite badly.

They were both limping after the game but were joking around and seemed in good spirits so they should be fine. Just a couple of bruised legs and they took them off to be precautionary.

Yeah fair enough. Although I will say, Mounga was never known for his long range kicking game, or goal kicking for that matter. He never had that huge long boot, difference
was he was accurate and with time his decision making got better and better. We can only hope that with Ajay that similar things happen. He’s only 21 so I won’t grill his decision making too much at this point, especially in those conditions.
Ps before someone turns my words on me, I am in no way saying Faleafaga is going to turn into Mounga😂
