Has Segner fallen out of favour?

@chimoaus Good young player. Not as good as Papalii or Choat, and Ioane, Sotutu, and Suafoa offer a different style and size.

@Tim Yeah, the others are better, not that Segner goes badly himself.

    @Tim

Yeah he’s mostly competing with Choat. He was winning that battle earlier in the year but Choat has been in great form recently

I though Choat had a belter of a game last week very impressive.

Weather forecast is fine with a high of 14C and a low of 1C. Judging on recent weather, the temperature might be about 7C at kick-off.

Crusaders will target the scrum. Should be a good contest. Expect them to spoil and disrupt at the ruck. Probably be a pretty tight game.

    Lots of contestable kicks?

    TAB odds:

    Crusaders $2.80
    Blues $1.40

    Spread: 7.5 points

With Doleman as the ref the breakdown will be messy.

Fix the lineout and lineout drive, Rob.

Keep kicking with ambition into the corner - despite the fuck-up last week. No use setting up 15 metres from the line.

Everyone who has sent up jumpers against us has done so with success (weirdly the Brumbies didn't really and nearly came unstuck), so you need to do something they don't expect. Meanwhile, the lineout drive (when we've actually managed to secure our own ball) has been about as effective as the Blues under JK. Give Jason Ryan a ring - I don't know how to fix that. Send up- jumpers on their ball.

To paraphrase Grizz Wyllie - "Come on - it's only the fucking Blues!"

*When Grizz said it, it was only fucking United. The Seniors of club team I was playing under 14s for at the time. Glenmark was behind but they ended up winning by 20+! 🙂

Now with teams named this match should be great, the backrow for the Crusaders looks pretty good, last time these three were together they destroyed the Rebels!

Some exciting match ups in this game

    Ofa vs Newell
Papalii (edit woops... Choat) vs Blackadder
    Sotutu vs Lio Willie
    Funaki vs Hotham
Tele'a vs Reece (even though both players spend a lot of time off their wing)

Wait till he actually makes it over the chalk before believing it.

The man, the myth, the legend; rivalled only by Charlie Ngatai for stocks rising when not playing.

Better to just wait until the crusaders run out on to the field, changes before game time every week this season if feels like. Makes you wonder if they are naming 50/50 players in hope they can be fit.

@Landers92 Seems that way, about 3 last week pulled up lame in GameDay and it's happened throughout the year, and by what @Chris has been saying, half the guys in doubt haven't trained this week.

Do they name them to fool the opposition into preparing for them?

This is one of the consequences of naming all teams on Wed. If the team plays on Sat you will be having a training on Thu too.

I think they are just hoping people recover during the week.

They haven't been keeping secrets.. Todd was talking yesterday about who hadn't been training etc

It suggests they don't rate the next options though

No other teams have really had this issue, just the crusaders so naming it a day earlier doesn’t really make a difference imo. Just the Crusaders being hopeful and playing mind games like African Monkey said above.
