Aside from an early drop, Cam Miller has been OK. Nothing spectacular but OK

The known goal kicker who couldn't knock one over from infront. He is a club rugby player, way out of his depth.

Alright, he is early in his career. Give him a few games before you right him off completely.

Crowd is thrilled that the game is over and they can leave.

Did they know a game was on? I reckon they all thought they were at th’ dudes tribute show.

He can go back to club rugby to learn. Bring back Faleafaga.

Think it’s best if all of us highlanders fans just say a win is a win, take it and be happy and log off for the night. Good going to sleep with a win for a change haha. Very tough watch but 4 points at the end of the day. Bring on Moana next weekend.

This is four games in a row now where we have just looked inept. It isn't even the inability to break the line. It is the basic handling errors, players looking lost in defence, and just not playing like they know each other. Every week we are tossing players around in club rugby, to the top team and back again. Some of the young forwards look good. The backs, are a big concern. The regression of Fakatava is just baffling.

We are an average team this year. It's good to get a win. Be happy and move on. If we win next week we will be a playoff team.

The players in this team are the guys management believe are going to be suceasful in 25, 26 and 27. Are our talked about golden generation made out of fools gold. Last year was easy to swallow, as it was clear we were going to clear out half the squad. My frustration is that it is difficult to understand what management is doing by constantly rotating the players.

Yeah I couldn’t agree more mate. My point was more or less just take the 4 points and run. It’s a win, build from it and hopefully get another win next weekend. I guess a positive is we can win a game playing terribly. Bring on next weekend and hopefully start stacking wins. Hopefully Patchell is ok, a lot depends on him!

De Groot, Harman and JR-K were the pick of the Highlanders. IMHO.

@Damo Exactly. You're making do with what you have and just defeated a team that's just come off giving the powerhouse of the competition an absolute hiding, so yeah, I'd be pretty happy grinding out a tough win, which makes next weeks game in Tonga even bigger.

    Haven't read the thread.

Fuuuuuck meeeee....was every player on the team trying to out do the others for number of knock ons?

Getting pissed off with Fakatava and his ruck watching, what is up with his reluctance to just get in and get the fucking ball? Unless he sorts that out, he's not close to my AB squad.

Millar, if nothing else, you're there to fucking kick the ball impeccably. That needs sorting too.

While JRK had some brilliant touches, he also made some awful errors. He's Jordan lite. Also not near my AB squad.

@Bones I mostly agree with all that.

I think JRK might sneak into the AB squad.

    1. The athleticism.
    2. Stop him going and playing for another nation.
    3. The old 'see what he does in the All Blacks environment' argument.

He's not in my squad either, but I could see the new coaching team going with him.

Can't see it, Stevenson and Love are both better, then there's cover from elsewhere.

MacDonald is largely responsible for the back three selection. I think JRK is playing exactly like he did for the Blues

If we win next week we probably have enough to qualify for post season.

Then if the team we play in the quarters ends up getting a couple of red cards then we will be odds on to make the semi final where anything can happen.
