England to whitewash Australia
-

This feels like the end of the second half not the first

-
Someone needs to give Billy V an uppercut for kicking to touch before the hooter.

I remember one of the AB games in the RWC had the same issue when they played at a Soccer stadium. The sandy field is great for Soccer with the amazing drainage... not so great when you have 900kgs of prime beef pushing against 900kgs of prime beef. -

Jeez that felt like a big moment at the end of the half there. But Joubert's decision to call 'advantage over' was atrocious- he's not having a good game tonight.

England playing smarter rugby, like last week. The conditions suit them, and they are playing them perfectly.

We need to step up in the forwards, and continue the good work in the last 10 of the first half.
-
Wow. Plenty of handbags going through the tunnel there. 2nd half should be a cracker.

Foley having a bit of a shocker. Reckon Aus need a more traditional 12. Kerevi is not a good enough distributor. -

A new directive perhaps? I was very surprised as I assured my wife (Wallabies supporter) that they'd get the chance to tie it up. -

I thought the advantage at the end of the first half was fine - seemed to go for plenty of phases.

Except perhaps it was a yellow card penalt? -

Yeah but 'number of phases' isn't the way advantage is determined.

In the case of a penalty 5m out, you need a clear-cut try-scoring opportunity to present itself for the call to be made- eg. a 3-on-1 out wide. Nothing even close to that came up, so to call advantage over where we had just shifted across field but made no ground is baffling to say the least.
-

Wallabies had clean ball and were just a couple of metres out. England defence were at 6/7s. That would satisfy at least one of the advantage criteria. -

So how long should it go? Is it a penalty unless a try is scored?

Does it say in the Laws that you need an equivalent to a 3 on 1 opportunity?

When the advantage is given 2m from the line and called over 10m from the line then the ref has got it wrong. There were plenty of times where England had Aus well covered and he should have called the penalty.

So basically, yes a penalty on your own line should only ever end in the penalty being given or a try being scored.

And as Siam points out England were on a team warning so would have had a player binned as well.

Great defense but fuck they got away with that one. -

It's the quality of the surface which wouldn't be decided by a groundsman. The pitch needs relaying not a new employee.
-

You'd think England would tire soon after all that tackling but so far they are keeping up well, impressed. Wallabies look mostly quite disorganised.

-
Bless you Nigel. Not what you called for, I suspect, but thank you for flagging!
-
That's a fucking ridiculous call.
