Crusaders v Waratahs

I can see there still being four certainties in the forwards (Williams, Taylor, Barrett, Blackadder), but people calling for the likes of Strange to be selected should be in for a reality check.
Newell and probably only Reece from the backs (at this point of time)

Well that was ugly, very un Crusader like.
Kemara is very poor he should not be in a Crusaders jersey.
Havilli and Bell were shit as well.
Apart From Barrett Reece and Hannah off the bench the rest should have to swim home in shark infested waters.
Pretty disgusted by that performance. That was not flash by Crusaders, perhaps some credit to the Tahs should be given I thought. I know for some Crusaders' fans noone else deserves to be good enough to beat them. I genuinely thought the Tahs went well.
And though I agree that Kemara struggled in first game to say should not be in Crusaders' jersey a bit over top. He was kind of thrown in deep end, and I thougt didn't get the support from Havili I hoped, and Hotham looked pretty clunky. I also agree Bell struggled (as he did last week I thought) and seems to me to be one who is struggling with step up' But anyway, I still think the Crusaders will go alright, don't see them topping table , but will still be there or thereabouts, and perhaps good news is Auusie teams just maybe more competitive this year. -

And I don’t need a lecture about the Crusaders after that shit show. -

You must be new here....
Annoyed most commentators are calling it an upset win, Tahs on paper at start of game we’re much better all round team with exception of Barret and Reece

Which is also a good point. The Crusaders aren't the 2023 version.
I'll point out the Tahs were dire last week, which probably set a lot of expectations.

Are you surprised based on the quality of rugby commentary?
Edmed was excellent last night. Fantastic punting.
That Tahs backline is worth sticking with - had a nice balance played with good spacing.

The Tahs playing well is new here!

Interesting that only two of the starting XV for this game (SBarrett and Christie) were in the starting XV for last year's final.
Though Lio-Willie, Drummond and McLeod also started - and Bell, Strange, Gardiner and Fihaki were on the bench.

Oh come on, the Tahs were paying $8.50 with the bookies here.
You can spin it any way you like, but a team who has consistently underperformed for the last six or seven years was up against the multiple time defending champions. I wouldn't call it David and Goliath, but maybe David and Goliath's younger brother, Hefty.
We were 13 up with three minutes left and my heart was pounding. I was sure they would somehow come back and dust us. That's the power of the Crusaders. Because that's just they type of shit they do.
Waratahs were suprisingly blue collar when it mattered most. Good solid defence and physicality at the breakdown. Took their chances well and just hung in there. Was a cracking effort.

That's ignoring the difference between the Crusaders of this year and those previous. Which was the point, I believe.
That also doesn't take anything away from a very good Waratahs performance.
