Shortly after half time in Japan and NBHS are up 26 - 07 (19-07 @ halftime) but are looking way too big, powerful and fast for their Keio High School opponents so expect the score to balloon out quite a lot as the game wears on, especially with the wind behind them. Having said that it looks like a bit of a first run out for the Napier Boys with things not quite clicking as well as they would like.

OMG, one going in favour of the visiting team about 40 metres out and fifteen to the right of the posts. It is easily converted into three points. 29 - 19, unsure how long to go as they seemed to play only about 25 minutes in the first half but I was not really paying all that close attention to exactly how long they played.
-
And there you go, a total of just 52 minutes of running time for the total match which ended at the above 29 - 19 scoreline. The Napier Boys certainly held their nerve and were only marched ten metres just the once after finally having the cheek to mouth off at one of the many baffling penalties awarded against them. Probably not a display that would be causing too many terrors in the Hamilton BHS camp but won't know for sure until we see Hamilton play a bit later on this afternoon.

@Bovidae I assume that has to do with the fact that they have to play again, tomorrow?
Yes, I'm sure it is due to player welfare. The SFs and final will be 30 min/half.

From Napier Boys' FB page:
Napier Boys’ 1st XV - 29 ( Tries: Charlie Nash, Ta$man Soanai-Oeti, Adrian Dixon, CJ Mienie. Conversions: Luke Thomas 3. Penalty: Zach Forster)
Keio High School - 19
A mixed performance first up as the team came to grips with the heat, hard fast ground and the after effects of a long trip to get here.
Some good team tries were scored. The team will look to lift their overall performance in todays game.
The win came at a cost with Adrian Dixon dislocating his should and breaking his collarbone in the act of scoring a try. -
Finally watching Napier Boys' first game. The ref is handing out penalties against them like candy. He literally seemed to penalise them for not defending a line-out and then not engaging in the following maul. That's perfectly legal, so what was the penalty for? Also several scrum penalties, some correct, but some clearly not, resulting in the frontrowers looking confused about what they were doing wrong.

That's exactly what I was referring to in my comments about the penalty situation faced by Napier earlier.

Today's result:
Brooksby Melton College 14 - 29 Napier BHS (HT: 7 - 17)Napier Boys' fell asleep during the game a few times, and each time they had to be woken up by a try to the opposition. After BMC's first try, there was a passage of play that NBHS showed they can really dominate. Especially their reserve TH prop - a huge boy - played like a bulldozer. Not sure whether he's really good, because the opposition didn't require them to play that well. It might just be sheer size and power that won't fool better opponents. Anyway, after BMC's tries, they kicked into a higher gear, raised their efforts and easily scored a couple of tries.
Like @Higgins said earlier, I don't think this Napier Boys team will worry Hamilton Boys' much.
