Black Caps v Australia

Goodnight from England
-
a bit of an aside, but i wonder if there are some worried guys at Cricket Australia
This attack of theirs is relentless, as good as any that has gone around, all four have incredible records, and are seemingly ever-present.
But
They are 30, 33, 34, and 36. There is a chance all 4 of them finish at about the same time. Aus have a heap of promising seamers floating around (not so much in the spin department), but promise doesn't always equal results.
There are already concerns at the lack of genuine batting options coming through, and the current line-up is at best brittle. This Aus team could just completely fall in a heap in a few years.

There's a research project somewhere in working out the new advancements the Black Caps specialist coaches have made in being Teflon...

Our batsmen just aren't quite good enough to put on enough runs against this lineup (which is one of the best ever TBF). If we could just get through to 325+ this innings then we're right in this game, but we're struggling to get beyond 200 in any innings. Which is a shame as our bowlers can actually knock over this fairly brittle Aus battling lineup but just don't quite have enough runs to play with.

Hazelwood is actually too good. Test nearly gone already.
-
@BerniesCorner when the ball is seaming a bit there are not many better at exploiting that than Hazlewood.
-
Henry will be looking forward to that seam movement as well

So Kane gets less chances to score against this better teams, but you would find it hard to make an argument he's seized the chances he has been given. Playing away so much doesn't help, but it's not like he's cashing in at home either.
It's relatively easy to see why fans from the bigger nations don't hold Kane in the same esteem as us.
But they miss the point that relative to everyone else in NZ history, he stands out like dogs balls.Always feels like the Oz pundits and players only rate someone if they consistently do well in Oz. Understandably I guess, from their point of view.
Will always remember MD Crowe being interviewed in genuine awe on ABC Grandstand during a mid 2000's lunchbreak... while Black Caps batters playing in the Test were spoken about with contempt.

i still, and have always, maintained that Hazlewood is the best test bowler in the world, and has been for some time.
Not as celebrated as the other 3 guys in the lineup, but he's the guy that knocks over the top order. 46% of his wickets are the top 4. Beautiful action through the crease, hits sexy areas, doesn't give up runs. -

I just realised why Super starts so early.
Withdraw and apologise for my earlier comments on rugby...
