The catching of Australia is light years ahead of NZ which has been shithouse amateur time.
Not true, Southee and Young both pulled off absolute rippers.
Talking about the amount of catches that are actually caught and not dropped in this series.
So yeah very true. -

So yeah very true. Not light years though, just a fair bit.
Scott Kiggeliens pathetic effort doesn’t help my argument I must say

Mitchell looks scratchy but the point is he's still there and starting to look a little better.
50 partnership up. Come on boys one more over and start tomorrow with confidence.
He has all the time in the world if he wants it. Raining out here just before and Monday looking dodgy it must be said though.
Nice work from these two after KW went. Ravindra looking classy and Mitchell dogged.
Combine that with Phillips efforts earlier and NZ have definitely won the day.

I still believe that all we really need is one big century and a number of support innings. We've got these two and some decent batting to come.

Yeah, after Williamson went I thought it was game over but now I'm starting to believe. I totally think they need to move Phillips up one spot, especially given the game he's had so far, let him bat with batters so he can take his time at first.

Haddin needs to learn to say Ravindra. Mate it's not Ravinda yah plonker.

Yeah he is a specialist batsman who bowls a bit who bats seven. That seems unbalanced.
Mind you the bowling side of things may change somewhat after today.

My preference would be to win by 7 wickets, but if Phillips is required I agree he ought to come in next.
I have never understood the logic of Blundell ahead of Phillips.

I think it speaks volumes about the quality of NZs spin bowling that the last guy to take a five for at home did so in 2008 ( Daniel Vettori I’m assuming )
Really interested to see how Philips career progresses after this.
Cricket has a long history of guys producing amazing one off fluky performances, I wonder if this is one of them ?

Phillips has bowled well for a little while now.
Before this test he had 11 test wickets in 5 tests at 19.18, with best bowling in an innings of 4/53.
He has a knack of taking wickets.
I understand from listening to the radio commentary guys that he works very hard on his bowling.

Vettori is the obvious guess, but I think the commentators said it was Jeetan Patel.

Phillips was also one of our better performers on the tour to Bangladesh. I think he's earned his spot, hope that he continues to develop is deserving of a promotion to 6 since he's probably a better bat than blundell anyway, and is definitely in better form.

Yeah Blundells two tons in his first three tests seem like an age ago now. He can’t buy a run these days.

Phillips has taken wickets before, so I don’t think he’s a one hit wonder.
