Big Bash League 23/24

@booboo because the test starts tomorrow?
But why mid week when the kids who are the target audience are off to bed, with absolutely zero hype?
Comes back to the BBL extending itself beyond school holidays.
More is not necessarily better.
Was a tight, intense comp with sell out crowds.
And now it's a forgotten extra.
Not that I care that T20 is eating itself.

Big Bash final
Mid week: WTF?
Seriously: WTF?
Big Bash is eating itself.
Anyway, Brissy Heat won. Yay. Ish.
But who cares coz no hype..
See the BBL thread is so popular I didn't even know there was one until @Duluth moved my posts ...
-
dunno booboo the crowds at the BBL looked pretty good, i reckon people still like it. And i love having a game every night for the whole summer.

Yeh I still look forward to it. Don't watch all of every game (well not many have time for that) but would have seen most of pretty much all Heat games. Some great cricket this year.

Yep bringing Heat games to the Gold Coast stadium has worked well, normally sells out 25,000 capacity.
Always good crowds at the Gabba.
The contracts are quite tasty for the BBL I know 3 players from my club are on good money at the Heat.
And another player is at the Tassie Hurricanes on good money. -

Not as big as they used to be

the grumpy old man thread is somewhere else mate
-
@mariner4life I thought my last two posts were somewhat measured.
-
while they may not be "as big as they used to be" they are still bloody good.
30 games, 19 with more than 20,000, six with more than 40k
Only 5 had less than 10k, and 4 of those were in TassieA quick squiz at the crowds for say BBL 5 sees them not significantly different except for the 1 game that got 80k. The final was a couple of thousand more, but Sydney v Melbourne at the 'G will pull more than Sydney v Brisbane in Sydney

Still remain Grumpy, and maintain it's not as good or as popular as it used to be.
