@Kiwiwomble how do you find what jerseys each team is wearing on a weekly?

The jersey schedule for the season: 2024-srp-jersey-clash-chart
As mentioned in another thread the Blues are wearing their retro jersey this week. They'll wear it again in Round 12 v the Hurricanes

have to say, i do like how the aussie teams tend to stick with their home jersey and only change when there is an actual clash
Why are the Brumbies wearing that jersey then?
you know i dont make the decisions aye? all i said way they seem to "tend" too stick to their home jerseys...as in more often than not
You obviously didn't grasp it was a generic question directing focus at them needlessly changing jerseys, as indicated by my next post.
-
@antipodean but why ask me? i had literally just said i was cool that the aussies more often that not...dont...change their jersey, seems largely just for special rounds...but obviously still more than you would like to see but surely better than just changing to the away strip which often has little to no relevance

I quoted your post because it had the pertinent information that gave context to mine.

Tbf, I think the Crusaders and Canes largely did it (and the Canes still do) because of having the differing sponsors.
The Highlanders and Blues tend to wear their away jersey, simply because they clash with the majority of the teams (THEY ALL WEAR BLUE)
Only dubious one I would say is the Highlanders against the Chiefs, but Dark Blue is probably a little close to black I suppose.

@frugby looks like the only time we didn't go with the maroon when away is against the reds for obvious reasons...like we're down to wear maroon against the canes....when theyre wearing yellow

i would say the tahs is more dubious than the chiefs...the black is a lot closer to our blue than their sky blue

I think as a default rule though, I don't actually entirely disagree with teams wearing the same base colour (regardless of shade) wearing different shirts.
Thinking for the players, if you see blue in your peripheral vision etc.
Also, the Tahs wear navy shorts, which I imagine is partially factored in.

too each their own, i think shade much more likely to cause confusion that the hue if we're saying all blues are the same

I also think this is only really an issue because of the 12 Super Rugby teams, 8 of them wear a shirt with the main colour either being a shade of blue, or having large patches of blue on it. Add in the Chiefs clashing with about half of them because they are navy, and it leads to an over-need of the away strips.
A condition of entry for the Drua and Moana Pasifika should have been no more blue shirts!
Realistically, the Hurricanes shouldn't even have an away jersey, but money talks...
-
i agree too many teams wear blue, interesting the most common colour in melbourne club rugby is green by a long way, the rebels could have bucked the trend back then and maybe made some friends locally bu adopting it. hell Rugby WA's colours are Yellow and Black....why go with blue?

@Kiwiwomble are they talking docking, or is that the original 96 jersey after they're on track to be as bad...
-
Wee leak of the Chiefs and Landers designs. Is from a screenshot so pre bad quality.
Chiefs have gone with the 96 design which for me is a little disappointing as it was done in 2019 but it does have a collar at least.
Landers with the 97-99 Temex design.

Is the 'SR Jersey Clash Commisson' (or something similarly named)referenced a few pages back a real thing?
Man, that would be the busiest job in all sports.
If the Russians played in this comp, and wanted to beat the commission. They would have a secret lab where each week they decide how to cheat the system. "Comrades, dah, this weak, we wear blue"

@Canes4life said it a few times on here but everyone is getting one, Blues were just first ready.
