All Blacks 2024

With my bias eye patch on I think Fabian Holland should be a big shout. He will be eligible in 2025. By that time he will have played 30 - 40 Super Rugby games. Will only be 22 turning 23. He is 2.04 m and is listed at 124 kg. Think he is your most like for like replacement
-
@SouthernMann I agree. Holland has the size but is also very mobile, and a ball-carrier.
-
@SouthernMann agree so much with you and @Bovidae on Holland. Been ranting about him for a couple of years, he seems to have all skills, size etc, and I love his workrate!

Based on what? He's hardly played Super.
-
@Crazy-Horse you understand the idea looking into the future? you take a little bit of info and extrapolate it out into the future
he's had a couple of good NPC seasons and 8-10 super games where he's looked more the comfortable...that combined with the fact he's not going to get shorter and unlikely to suddenly loose 30kg
if he was already proven then it wouldn't exactly be much of a call would it

Yeah, he seems to have the ingredients but PPP seemed to as well until he revealed himself as a gentle giant. It's a big couple of years for Holland, he needs to show he is hard enough. Hopefully he is.
-
personally i think injuries have been more of issues, i think when fit he still shows some good signs of a physical game in line with his size, definately dont agree with the "gentle giant" tag...hes a long way off someone like Jamie Mackintosh
-
@Frank he's not...as @SouthernMann said, 2025

He has a lot more to his game than PPP. Holland has a running game, can pass, offload in the tackle and turnover the ball. PPP is seen as a dominant player who is too soft to be dominant.

Not a lot, but what he has done at super level (and below) he shows all the signs of being a bloody good one in future. I would argue at 21 he is showing more at lock than any I have seen since the likes of Big Sam etc, and to be honest I thougt he showed it at 19. In general looking to future I pretty excited by what he could be. As you say he could flatten out to, but I think he shows more than PPP at same age (could even be his build) so will look at positives anyway.

We 100% should be changing our eligibility rules to allow him to play again.
The missed touch finder was chef's kiss for me.
WTF is this?!!!
I had to go to the youtube channel to read the comments to see if it was a pisstake, but they're all deadset serious in their praise of this "masterclass".
Fuck me.
-
in other news...well known flat track bully...bullies on a flat track.....
-
Your anti-cantab bias makes me sick.
You just can't see his obvious class.
He's really taking on high-quality world class players in that competition. The try assist from the terrible non-tackle by Charlie Lawrence is a clear example.
He only had one missed touch and one pass to no-one in those highlights.
He also kicked goals at 71% (5/7) - that's the quality we need to get us over the line at a WC.

You’re probably right. On second viewing, I also noticed he threw a bunch of skip passes that skipped 2-3 guys each time, off BOTH hands too. Extraordinary.
Each time the attacker caught the ball under immediate pressure and didn’t make any ground, but that’s hardly Richie’s fault.
-
For a guy who’s Dutch I suppose Holland is a logical surname.

@Crazy-Horse Have you not received the fern memo? The less you play, the higher you get rated!
