Some media has been picking Perofeta to make it.. with no Love or Plummer. That would be a bad call
Oh, FFS.
That scary fuckin look is 50% of the reason why the Blues won the Championship.
There was a warm place in my heart seeing Graham Henry looking grumpy in teh background of the last 2010's Auckland NPC side. Vern does the same thing.

@SouthernMann expecting 3 of the 4 wider squad to be Noah Hotham, Jamie Hannah and George Bell. All three were spotted out for lunch with Razor in Chch last week

also possible he was just catching up with some of the young guys he had brought into the Crusaders

considering they have to have cover for late injurys they need 3 10s and 2 fullbacks ass Dmac and BB carnt cover both if one injured.
options
At 10 Dmac ,BB and plummer
AT 15 BB,love Stevenson
both pereafeta
considering it is only for 3 matches and only if injury strikes it may be perefeta and free up another player else wear.
as I write I see so many holes in that theory
really looking forward to seeing the team -
I'd hope not Perofeta - there's something about failing to secure your spot as a 1st 5 and going back to 15 and being rewarded with an AB spot that doesn't fit well with me.
Maybe going for a Perofeta/Plummer combination? Or they just wern't impressed by Love during the season.

I'd rather they just have Plummer and Narawa cover 15 than Perofeta. Plummer is excellent under the high ball
agreed
plummer easily in top 3 10shas to be a 15 picked to backup BB or start ,for me not all of CC , MT SR and EN can be picked

Love is the best fullback in the country under the high-ball, I can't remember him dropping a ball this year. So when McDonald comes on TV and says they are largely picking their back three based on their ability in the air shows me that he's full of shit and would rather just revert to guys he's worked with before / doesn't have the balls to drop Beauden, who in my view should only be in the ABs as a 10.
-
I'm a huge Ruben Love fan but a few points to consider
-
his knee didn't look 100% towards the end of the season. He was gimpy
-
his best form came at the start-middle of Super Rugby rather than the end - there were a couple of big games he didn't play his best - I presume part of that was the injury.
-
the likelihood of Beauden not starting at 15 in a series with under 2 weeks build-up is very low so I'm not sure how much game time would get anyway.

I'm assuming it was always going to be Dmac at 10 and BB at 15 (and probably the back-up 1st 5 as well).
Everyone else was fighting for the 3rd first 5 or back up FB spot.
Why though? Why should Beauden (who's shown f all form as a fullback over the last few years) automatically be selected? This is why the ABs haven't gone anywhere in the last few years, it's because of backward selections like this. Being innovative is what kept us at the top of the pile, we haven't been there for a long time because we keep favouring certain players. Beauden peaked 7-8 years ago, he's not the player that he used to be so why persist with him...
-
@Canes4life On Beauden 4 year contract must mean he's a done deal

Now do the same with Blackadder and Akira, Havilli and Lam, Bell and literally anybody else.
And the big one for back to the future is TJ, his time has gone, put in the young guys.
-
@Kirwan why can't we just pick the best players? If Cane gets in it will be a joke, if Havili gets in it will be a joke, Blackadder shouldn't be there because he actually needs to play consistently to show he's still up there. For me TJ only gets selected because Roigard is still out. Once he comes back I'd assume TJ will be dropped. Another guy we need to move on from.
I'd argue Proctor, Sotutu, Lam and Love were some of the highest performing players in super this year and probably couldn't have done more to warrant selection. If all of them miss out it will be bloody disappointing.
