Hoskins Sotutu – 8.5
Hoskins Sotutu was the best player in Super Rugby Pacific this season. It all started with five tries in just two games to open the campaign, and about five months later, it ended with a slice of history by taking out the title.Especially early on in the final, Sotutu was busy. With the Chiefs’ Wallace Sititi lining up opposite him, Sotutu took the challenge head-on by running around desperate to get his hands on the ball.
Sotutu ended up carrying the ball 15 times for 36 metres, passing it on 13 occasions and finishing with 100 per cent tackle completion as well. With the All Blacks squad set to be announced this coming week , it would be a surprise not to see ‘Hoskins Sotutu’ among the backrowers selected.

No Hoskins in the squad
That would be criminal. There really isn’t much else he could do. He’s had one hell of a season, to not even be in the 32 just seems crazy.

Criminal would be the best word for it.

It's gonna be interesting for Razor to potentially feel a bit of a heat for the first time in his career if some of these selections are true.
True, but apart from the Scott Barrett for captain which seems like an open secret, how good are the sauces for any of these rumours about the 32?

From what I remember @chchfanatic is usually pretty bang on with Razor knowledge

I’m sure Savea will be a big part of the leadership team and will also captain at times.
I don’t want diversity picks, I want the best captain the coach wants.
Media wise - he can improve. Richie was hardly that great in front of the media.

@Machpants Says who?
Me, he's going to Japan, bye bye, enjoy the yen.
The yen is the peso these days. Trying to support two kids at NZ uni with a Japanese salary is not easy! Having said that, the Japanese companies are making serious money in the current situation so will have cash to throw around!

Picking a non white as opposed to picking the right person for the job , regardless of colour etc

So complete bollocks when talking about who's likely to be AB captain then.
-
Yup!
-
I don’t mind Barrett as captain and I think a big part of that is he is a certain selection, probably the first forward picked atm with our locking stocks.
-
There's an argument for picking Sotutu and Sititi in the 23
-
@KiwiMurph I don’t know who the captain is. I would think it would be Scott Barrett. But I got a feeling it’s going to be Ardie.
Only 3 locks picked. SB Paddy and Vaai. Finau as cover. This is if Paddy is fit. -

@Machpants NZ worst kept secret at the moment is that Scott Barrett is going to be the new captain.
I'd have gone with Ardie if I'm honest. Humble bloke, smart, respected by everyone in world rugby, reigning World Player of the Year, great with the media, empties the tank every time he wears the black jersey.
What more do you want from a captain?
referee communication.

What time (NZ) is the team announced?
