    Ah fair enough,

I like the idea of it. As long as there is crystal clear clarity on the requirements of specific positions based on the gameplan.

I'm sure I saw that Hansen will be in that mix. He feels like Razor's Smith to me so I imagine he gets a voice

They broke it up as follows as far as responsibility for selections are made, this according to an interview with Razor before SR.

    Ryan tight 5
    Razor LF's
    Hansen HBs and First fives
    Holland MF
    McDonald outside backs

Overseen by Razor with Wayne Smiths in put.

Genius. Just set up 2-3 sub-committees to co-ordinate selection and we'll be sweet.

The funny bit is that it's been stated that Razor will be the one to make the decision if there are disagreements.

Exactly how are there going to be disagreements here? Is Ryan going to disagree with himself as to who the tight 5 are? An enormus shouting match between Holland and McDonald as to whether JB is a 2nd 5 or a fullback? A stoush between Ryan and Razor if SB is a lock or a 6?

Be good to have the captain fuck off shortly after getting used to his role.

But he wouldn't be going when he is doing his role. Basiacally he redundant as captain during super anyway because team isn't playing. I can't really recall any AB captain having anytjing to do with his role at that time.
I have no opinion on whether he should be captain, but taking time off during super ,I wouldn't think would or should be a big factor.

The powers that be know best as always Dan

He would be fucking off right in the middle of his role, don't be ridiculous

Well we got no AB captain now and I not sure it hurts. Mind you , I would be quite happy if they just named captain year by year, so noone feels they got mortgage on it or jersy. But that me probably just showing age?

The media comms should improve from that shambles of a lady that was around during Fozzie's tenure.

And he has recently handed his ticket in. Haven't seen the role advertised either. Considering how demanding it is, in terms of time away from home, pay is similar to what decent public service roles are. I think last time it came up, it was around 130 - 140kish. So may be add another 5% to that amount. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/media-insider-newshub-nation-presenter-joins-nbr-all-blacks-comms-boss-quits/UR5Q6VMITZERRPU4R5VEIO3JZM/

Ah thanks. I guess my wider point was I don't see the lady there from Fozzie's reign.

Um, it isn't as if we don't have enough 6s and too many international quality locks..

Fuck me. More coaches and managers than a small country's rail network.

I don't know why anyone would be remotely surprised about this unless they're still living in the 1990's?

All tier-1 setups look like this now, your minds would blow seeing the size of an NFL setup, also the team at 2023 World Cup was even bigger as there were 7 on-field coaches altogether with Foster, Schmidt, Strawbridge, McLeod, Hill, Ryan, Feek - along with the same amount of managerial staff that's listed here.

He might not be, but that other commentator that wears blazers that would be tight on Terry Wright for sure is.
Ben Castle I think his name is.

It would be a disaster if he appointed Scott Barrett as captain. Apart from the fact it would make Robertson look like he's unable to look outside his Crusader mates - its already bad enough with Richie and Sam. Scott would almost be the final straw for me.

Please pick Scooter. Please pick Scooter. Just please.

I'm a big Ardie fan, but his captaincy hasn't been great. I'd pick Scott, and I wouldn't care that he goes on a sabbatical next year. That's my prediction
